2 1 - JOIN PREMIER AMERICA CREDIT UNION Join online or at your local branch and open accounts that meet your financial needs. Discontinue using your accounts at other financial institutions but leave funds to cover outstanding commitments for at least one statement period. 2 - SWITCH YOUR AUTOMATED TRANSACTIONS Begin transferring electronic transactions to your Premier America account(s). We have included forms and information that will help you notify companies that you ve switched your account to Premier America. Redirect your Direct Deposits Payroll or Automatic deposits (i.e. Social Security or dividend checks). Redirect your Automatic Withdrawals/Payments Recurring payments Mortgage, Insurance, Utilities, Car payment, Internet provider Set up Online Bill Payments You will need a record of your payee information (name, address, phone number, account number, etc.). If you were using a bill pay service, we suggest you print each payee screen as a reference for establishing your bill pay service through Premier America. If you would like assistance with Bill Pay, please contact your local Branch Manager. 3 - BEGIN CLOSING YOUR OLD ACCOUNTS We suggest you wait one or two statement periods before closing to ensure all electronic payments have been moved to your appropriate Premier America account. Once all charges have been paid, you may begin closing your old accounts. Then ask your previous financial institution to send your remaining balance to you or your new Premier America account. Then, securely destroy your old checks, ATM cards, debit cards and deposit slips.
