2 Client Overview and Background Skoop VT was conceptualized by a US based client to help both the employees and customers of restaurants. The idea behind this was to develop an easy platform through which employees managers and waiters would be able to supervise and carry out the various in-store activities related to customer management and care. Radikal Labs came up with a perfect solution for both the parties, allowing a seamless connectivity between customers and employees. With a few simple taps on the devices, different functions related to Sales, Rewards/ Giftcards, User Management, Member Management, Table Waiting Notification, Online Ordering, etc. platforms could be covered. Figure 1: Home Figure 2: Transaction Business Requirements The client was looking for an app that would be simple and effective. Some of the key objectives were: To create an app that can be configured based on the venue it will be used for. 2 P a g e

3 To make the different customer management related activities easier for the employees of restaurants. To build a set-up that would facilitate various Sales, Rewards, User Management and Member Management activities like loading/redeeming rewards/points etc, making transactions, registering users/members and viewing their details, setting permissions for app users etc. To enhance customer experiences through the Skoop! Rewards/Giftcards feature. To enable the employees manage the customers in queue without any kind of chaos via the Table Waiting Notification. To ensure that the online ordering services are attended and delivered efficiently. To be able to take out print outs of receipts and accounts details of members. Challenges and Our Approach Below are the few challenges that we faced and how we handled it. Hardware Device Integration : This ios app demanded hardware integration support from an external printer and card scanner/reader. This was a big challenge for which extensive research was done to understand the hardware manufacturer s devices SDK and integrate it with our app. Testing Given to the various functionalities of the app, rigorous testing was done on every aspect of the app. The app has different users with different sets of permission for which there are different app configurations. All these required us to conduct adequate tests so that we could ensure a foolproof performance. Solution Overview Radikal Labs provided them with the easy-to-use and effective white label app which could be easily customized and configured for different restaurants. The restaurant staff can now easily manage operations related to the various accounts related activities that would cover viewing account balance, adding rewards/giftcards/points and redeeming them, sales, transferring accounts, viewing last 10 transactions etc., registering member and app users, as well as managing table waiting and online orders even on days when they are flooded with too many customers. Simultaneously, customers will also register themselves for the rewards and enjoy its benefit. They will also notified by text messages when their table is ready. 3 P a g e

4 Features Skoop Virtual Terminal App has been designed to benefit both the staff and customers of restaurants. Some of the key features of the app include: 1. White Label App This is a white label app which can be customized for different restaurants (locations) and therefore will give each restaurant an exclusive touch. 2. User Authentication - Unique login for each user and only logged in user can logout of the application enabling the system to be used as a kiosk as well. 3. Transaction Management Users can manage a member s account like add points/rewards/ gift cards, coupons and redeem them, sales, balance enquiry, transfer accounts, void transactions, view last 10 transactions, aiding in managing the sale process smoothly, thereby, boosting the overall business. 4. Member management Restaurant staff can easily register new customers from here, view registered customer s account details or validate their account. User can also set if they want their points/ rewards/ giftcards to be auto-redeemed when they make a purchase. 5. User management View registered app users for that restaurant and add new users and set permissions for them based on their role. 6. Online ordering The staff can now easily see the online orders placed by customers and respond to them. Depending upon the circumstances, they could accept or reject the order and even set the delivery time. 7. Print outs Users can take print outs of the balance details, sales or any transaction. 8. Scan enabled Users can check his account details, loyalty points and reward balances and carry out transactions etc easily by scanning the membership card through the ipad s camera or via an external card scanner. 9. Swipe enabled The same information can also be derived by swiping the customer s Rewards Card through the Blue Bamboo P25i-M card reader. 10. Table Booking Management The hosts can now manage the customers in queue by putting them on a waiting list and sending them a text message when their table is 4 P a g e

5 ready. Once seated the customer details can be deleted from here. Customer s details can be easily entered by scanning their card. 11. Registering new customers As customers remain seated on their tables, waiting for the food to be served, they can enroll for Rewards Registration via the tablet given to them.
