2 Incoming students and staff guide ES DAP Catalunya 1 ESCOLA SUPERIOR DE DISSENY I ARTS PLASTIQUES DE CATALUNYA ESDAP is an academic structure composed by union of the seven public schools of design of the Departament d'ensenyament de Catalunya (Education Department of Catalonia) The aim of this project is to create a new structure, stronger and more dynamic, to meet the challenges of the future by improving unity and quality. The degree conferred is the official diploma of the European Space of Higher Education. It has the same structure as a Bachelor of Arts and includes the European Diploma Supplement (DS). This degree structure enables mobility, as both students and graduates are recognized academically and professionally throughout Europe. The degree of Higher Education in Design allows access to Masters Programs to obtain an official degree of Master in Art and Design. General regulations of mobility The creation of ESDAP (Cataloniaʼs Higher School of Design and Plastic Arts) means that the seven schools of art and design become the campuses that articulate and coordinate the Higher Studies of Design in Catalonia. The structure of ESDAP in seven campuses is a singular organization that demands a great clarification and coordination of all the conventional management processes of an educational institution. This is even more the case in mobility programs, where very different academic, communication and economic processes take place. Therefore, very clear regulations and criteria have to be established in order to increase effectiveness and efficiently solve the problems that may arise. This fact implies that it is necessary to establish uniform regulations that manage mobility programs on the different campuses, integrate previous experiences and establish clear, transparent and fair procedures that guarantee the success of these mobility programs

ESDAP Olot: Graphic and Interior design (morning shift) 6. ESDAP Tàrrega (Ondara): Graphic and Interior design (morning shift) 7. ESDAP Vic: Graphic and Interior design (afternoon shift) As a consequence, ESDAP offers to our prospective students numerous courses in the four fields of design: graphic, interior, product and fashion. Nomination: Students have to be formally nominated by a representative person of the sending Institution.Nominations should be made by to international@esdap.cat and should contain the following information for each nominated student: Student's full name Student's Student's subject area of exchange (fashion, graphic, interior or product) and desired campuses (if the area of exchange is interior or graphic) Student's proposed semester/s of study: autumn semester, spring semester, full academic year. For staff nomination: full name, , proposed period, ESDAP campus 2. Application process: Students can find all the information about the application process in our website and in the general information found at the end of this document.

9 Incoming students and staff guide ES DAP Catalunya 8 Incoming students will fill an application online form that they can find here: This online form needs to be complete by uploading some documents described in the general information. 3. Application Deadlines: For the autumn semester or the full academic year: May 30 (Exceptionally for this year) For the summer semester: November Acceptance: Once the student gets accepted by our Institution, an Acceptance Letter will be sent to him following the correct reception of the Application Form and other required documents. Accepted students will receive an with an acceptance letter and other useful information about their exchange at ESDAP. Please, read carefully our documents concerning the regulations of the ESDAP mobility programs that you can find in our site. After this procedure, students will be informed about how to inscribe themselves in our online Erasmus site in order to fill the learning agreement, sending other complementary documents, etc. 5. VISA: ESDAP will provide assistance, when required, in securing visas for incoming participants, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. Please send an to international@esdap.cat. 6. Housing ESDAP will guide incoming mobile participants in finding accommodation, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. 10 Incoming students and staff guide ES DAP Catalunya 9 GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT INCOMING STUDENTS MOBILITY I. Requirements for incoming students in international mobility studies (SMS) within the Erasmus+ Program Students who perform a studies mobility on an ESDAP campus must meet the following requirements: 1. To belong to a higher educational institution that has a bilateral collaboration agreement with ESDAP within the Erasmus+ Program. 2. To be nominated as students with a SMS mobility by the corresponding mobility coordinator in their home institution. 3. To make the admission request, as a mobility student, within the procedures and terms approved by ESDAP. 4. To have sufficient knowledge of the ESDAP teaching language. As a general rule, a B1 level is highly recommended for the mobility. 5. To fulfill the conditions, rights and duties that are established in title IV (students coming from foreign higher educational institutions that carry out mobilities at ESDAP) in the ESDAP mobility regulations. II. Application Students coming from any partner higher educational institution that wish to carry out a mobility have to submit the following documentation: 1. Online application form to be found on the ESDAP website: 2. Nomination, on the part of his institution, as an applicant for an ESDAP mobility. 3. Color copy of the national identifying document or passport of the applicant. PDF, JPG or TIFF document. 4. Supporting documentation of the language level. We will admit certificates by recognized public and private institutions that certify sufficient knowledge of the ESDAP teaching language, according to the bilateral agreement signed with the home institution. Similarly, we will admit certificates issued by the home institution.

This portfolio will be submitted in PDF format and will be uploaded on the application form or with the link to where it is uploaded. 6. Curriculum Vitae in Europass format. PDF document Letter of motivation with the reasons that move the applicant to carry out his ESDAP mobility. It cannot be longer than an A4 sheet and has to be sent in a PDF document. Applicants will select the main campus where they want to carry out their studies mobility but they can also choose one or more secondary campuses, where they will carry out up to 30 % of the credits for which they have enrolled. III. Selection scale The scale that will be applied for the selection of applicants will have a maximum grade of 100 marks. The distribution of this grade will be done according to the following elements: 1. Language Criteria (up to 40 marks) At the time of the mobility, it is essential to have sufficient knowledge of the ESDAP teaching language. For the selection process, Spanish and Catalan will be valued as teaching languages. English will be valued when it is contemplated in the bilateral agreement between the educational institutions. The languages of instruction are Catalan and/or Spanish depending on the teachers of each ESDAP campus. The language of teaching will be indicated in the catalogue of courses. Some teachers can help incoming students in English in the beginning of their Erasmus mobility, but it is strongly recommended that incoming students have the minimum level of Spanish or Catalan (B1). As a marking system, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages will be used. Level A1 A2 B1 B2 C1 C2 Grade

12 Incoming students and staff guide ES DAP Catalunya 11 The applicant or the home institution may be required additional information as for language certificates in cases where there may be some doubt concerning the correspondence between the claimed level and the level on the scale above. If the applicant claims two or more languages, the highest ranking one will be taken into account. If he claims that the teaching language is his mother tongue, a C2 level will be granted. Not having the minimum language level can be a reason for exclusion of the selection process, except in duly justified cases where the student will have the required level when the mobility is carried out. 2. Portfolio or book (up to 40 marks) We require a collection of (mainly academic) projects which shows the skills that the student has acquired. It will have a pdf format and will be submitted through the registration system. 3. Curriculum Vitae in Europass format and letter of motivation (up to 20 marks) The Europass CV can be found in the following link: The student has to point out the work and complementary training activities that have been carried out and affect the Higher Studies of Design skills. Likewise, we will value the participation in extracurricular activities which have been organized by the home institution and activities of support and accompanying of incoming students, etc. The letter of motivation has to reflect the reasons that move the student to apply for a mobility and the objectives that he aims to achieve. The beneficiaries will be assigned to the corresponding ESDAP campus, following the order of the scores obtained. During the selection process, ESDAP reserves the right to request the supporting documentation that it deems necessary or convoke examinations of any kind in order to carry out a more accurate selection of candidates. By agreeing to these regulations, applicants also accept this right.
