Increase the default RDC buffer size to If file is being resent in FULL again, it should not throw an error message on the log. Plug-ins not updating selected totals in some cases. Add Group field in Backup Client Management Server settings. XML file(s) not being cleared out for the file(s) that's already been rolled up on the Time base restore view. Entries in the windows event log should be catagorized for better sorting. Custom install dropdown for drives is not working correctly. Nsservice hung on restore when user has deleted the backup (NBD) files. Backup client does not properly get the ip address or mac address on a windows 7 system that is passed to the commerce server's webstorageregistration. Improved FastBIT3 error handling Error: HResultException ERROR: Description: FastBIT3 operation failed, Error = 0x The parameter is incorrect Exchange Server checks on AD can hang the application or take a very long time to evaluate Support SQL 2012 backups Add support to enable/disable backup of empty folders. BackupClient reject file selections exceeding about 250 chars. NovaBACKUP truncates name of Hyper-V machine name if it's name contains a \ FastbitException ERROR: Patch creation failed. FastbitException ERROR: CompareFiles: failed to process input buffer. Error: The parameter is incorrect. Warnings: - <19> Error attempting to determine disk usage space on backup server.) Enable "Backup empty folders" and "Copy empty folder" checkbox by default. Prevent power saving while a backup is happening. System State Restore to Alt Location Failed: Error e : Invalid handle specified. Enable "Restore empty folders" checkbox by default.
4 Revised texts information for Normal Copy, Mirror, and BI-Directional Copy While staging a backup the files are not being deleted in the temp directory after the.sig file is made and the file is backed up to the staged device. Update from one version to another version can cause the Antivirus button to disappear. Cache migration from FastBIT2 to FastBIT3 failed when running saved script backup Entry Point Not Found on WinXP-64bit Main GUI Application has stopped working error. Local Backup Fails: Error e : Item not found. - Job processing failure. Fail to custom install when DR is excluded. Limit attached log size to 5MB by default, and have configurable option in nsconfig.ini. Show media name for volume/media name column in Device tab for tapes. Local backup Append needs to add date/time suffix even to the very first "media name" output dataset produced, and not only to the second and subsequent datasets produced Local backup improve Import logic so that it includes the true media/session name. If.sig file is incorrect in plugins, then backup cant complete properly and has lots of errors Install fails if the computer username contains an ampersand ( & ) character New log files and status not being sent from agent service to CMC until agent service is restarted. Replying NO to "missed backup job" popup reschedules ALL JOBS UI can take a long time to load and show the splash screen if logs of logs, indexes, cache files, other files in the ProgramData directory. Local backup when append is specified put the complete NBD dataset name including the date/time suffix into the LOG instead of what appears today. Local backups fix to avoid verify errors if/when file selection list gets out of sync with storage Avoid duplicate info/warn/error line logging when using the xsp device Backups that have a corrected error (such as a dropped connection or file resend) should not be marked as a failed backup. Append, Incremental backup to a network drive, fails on verify. Scheduled Disaster Recovery backup will have error status even though completed successfully. Add start/stop button to Management Server tab in the client default service. XML/APF parsing when doing backups since large amounts of files in the XML file slow down backup processing. Plug-in signatures are not being saved because of path length issues. Can't create a cache for Exchange 2010 plugin due to windows file patch character limitation. Change encryption type on local backup to 128bit AES encryption. Nsservice crashes when backing up to Storage Server and the connection drops and the client reconnects. Unable to save a backup job on certain machines. Wizards with a right side roll-down help/tip window show it getting cut short/chopped Changing the Temporary Files Directory in version 13.0 does not work. 5 NovaBACKUP Storage Server Storage Server windows service fails to start and does not report or log the reason if the BackupServer.ini file does not exist Storage Server crashes during shutdown HWRegstr.exe crashes during setup installer Storage Server doesn't log startup failure Storage Server Master Decryption key is NOT working in case a account user forgets or loses its encryption key or password. Storage Server will not tell the client that it has over 2TB of storage in storage. Additional installer refinements Config Utility GUI Storage Server Configuration Manager shows "Disk Usage" 0KB even after finishing a seed import Storage Server configuration manager should not allow blank license key Storage Server configuration Manager removes backslash from drive root specification and disables the storage location During upgrade of Storage Server, migrating Storage Server DB where DB has more than one data MDF file fails with Database does not contain two system file paths. Storage Server upgrade fails on first attempt for upgrade Rollups causing excessive disk I/O Query to get outdated files is inefficient Store last backup date/time in the User's table The setup installer should not perform a full migration if the database schema was not changed Server marks file as 'corrupted' during rollup but should not have when a connection drop happens and the client retries and it aborts the rollup. Storage Server database is created using the database server's default collation value when it is actually dependant on SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS for example Disk usage stats drift over time due to calculation method not using precise numbers. Improved exception handling and reporting in the Storage Server. Storage Server need to be able to enable/disable features for a specific group in the configuration manager. Restore operation can fail with **WARNING: Checksum failure :: **WARNING: File was not transferred successfully Storage Server can record that a file was backed up in the database when in fact it has not been fully backed up. ERRO "Failed to send FLSR PDU, error 3" A storage server restart/service crash during the backup of a full file can cause that file never to be backed up correctly. NovaBACKUP Central Management Console Maximum Runtime feature in the schedule portion of the client should be available to set in the CMC. Cannot remove a backup policy from a group if the group has one or more subgroups Add a new UI tab for 'Network Credentials' mirroring the client backup settings.
6 New file(s) are being backed up, even its not part of the backup policy. Notify the CMC user when current backup to storage server is active and a user is trying to drill down xsp restore policy. Change the default maxconcurrentsessions property on the <serverthrottling/> Local C:\ backup destination appears on CMC for xsp client agent with no backup license. Add 'Backup empty folders' checkbox on the CMC General tab UI. Add 'Restore empty folders' checkbox on the CMC Restore UI. Client agent needs to report xsp device username to CMC. Backup client agent service throws an 'Inner Channel Faulted' error if the CMC server was shut down disgracefully. The agent service will then never reconnect until you restart the backup client agent service. Remove 'Agent Guid' information from the pop-up dialog Known Issues: When backing up from a vsphere server VM's contained in a Vapp container will not be able to be selected. Amazon S3 has a single file size limit of 5GB. Spanning of Tapes and CD/DVD/BD media is not supported from a scheduled backup. For an up to date listing of known issues, please visit the support section of our website at Technical Information: NovaBACKUP default installation: C:\Program Files\NovaStor\NovaStor NovaBACKUP Location for Profiles and Logs on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008: C:\ProgramData\NovaStor\NovaStor NovaBACKUP Location for Profiles and Logs on Windows XP, Windows 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NovaStor\NovaStor NovaBACKUP TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR CD/DVD BACKUPS To ensure compatibility with the widest range of hardware and OS platforms, backup with verify operations may cause the media to be ejected and reloaded (auto tray load on drives that support it) between the backup and verify operations. This is being done to make Windows recognize the newly written media. Please be aware of this condition and do not disturb or interfere with the media/drive during the eject as the tray may close immediately. Due to the nature of DVD-R, burning to this type of media often takes a long time to complete and may show a status of "Closing Session" for quite some time. This is normal. For this release, there must be a minimum amount of disk space available of 1.5 GB or more. Please remember that DVD media refers to a gigabyte of data as a pure 1 billion bytes, not the actual value which is 1,073,741,824 bytes. Therefore, the maximum amount of data that will fit on most current DVD media is about 4.4Gb. For Blu-Ray this number is roughly 25 GB, and for Dual Layer it is about 50 GB. Integral backup file splitting is automatically done by NovaBACKUP, therefore, no issues should be encountered regarding any file size limitations based on file system type.
7 Backups which span more than one piece of media will require the entire set of media to be available during restore. This may change in future revisions to only require the necessary media for the files being restored. It is recommended that you turn off Auto-insert notification for CD-R/W and DVD devices when performing backups. With "Auto-insert" notification enabled while other software is writing, the operating system continuously tries to read the contents of the disc being recorded to determine the appropriate action to take.
