Regional Alignment The program will add a new skill set to industry technical training and also enhance an apprenticeship technical education program between San Diego Miramar College and San Diego Metropolitan Transit. The new skill set is the focus on HVAC technology as it is integrated into vehicle operation, in particular electrical and software systems. This skill set will also be delivered to other students in the program. Program integration will also occur outside of the region as it pertains to working with the Southern California Transit Training Consortium. 12. Articulation NA 13. Industry Match Principal industry match will be in curriculum development and technical training integration in the apprenticeship program. Specific match in these areas is estimated to be approximately $5,000. However, this type of program improvement has led to additional program match such as an operational bus recently donated by Metropolitan Transit. 14. Impact on students The key impact of students is to expand their technical skills into an area not previously taught by the heavy duty advanced transportation program.
