BASIC PURPOSE The is responsible for the evaluation of children suspected of having been abused. Additional responsibilities include supporting the general day-to-day activities of the as well as promoting and advocating for the programs offered through the. B. PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES 1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:! Provides victim support and advocacy for children and families from orientation through the evaluation process, crisis counseling as needed during the evaluation process and referrals to appropriate community agencies.*! Conducts forensic interviews according to the standards of the National Children s Advocacy Center or other national training organizations. Attends basic and advanced forensic interview training.! Provides follow-up counseling to victims and families via telephone as requested.*! Prepares for, attends, and presents testimony in court hearings as subpoenaed in criminal, family and civil court.! Acts as a community liaison, encouraging collaborative efforts in case management, with all involved agencies.*! Meets and maintains skills in age-specific competencies, related to children, in areas of child abuse and family violence.*! Participates in case review process through multidisciplinary team meetings.*! Maintains documentation in medical records and dictation of interviews, and keeps statistics for case tracking purposes.*! Participates in regular Interview Program Peer Review sessions through means established for such review (videoconference, intra-agency peer review, inter-agency peer review, multidisciplinary team meetings). *denotes VOCA-eligible activity for grant year.! Provides training regarding interview protocols and child abuse and prevention information. Participates in training in the CRC, the healthcare system, agencies,

Communicates and cooperates with administration and with other departments to implement clinical services and activities. Assist with public awareness campaigns to increase community s knowledge of services provided. 2. Customer Service! Demonstrates the highest degree of customer awareness by seeking out opportunities to identify and meet the needs of internal and external customers.! Treats each person as an individual with respect and dignity.! Is receptive to questions and criticism, and willing to offer assistance.! Demonstrates genuine concern and empathy.! Consistently performs all of the above in a friendly, courteous manner.! Maintains accountability for patient and family satisfaction throughout the episode of care.! Includes physicians as customers. 3. Other Duties! Performs other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, CRC (Executive Director, CAC). C. HUMAN RELATIONS 1. Must be optimistic, enthusiastic, and communicate effectively at all levels; 2. Must work constructively and cooperatively at all levels, reflecting concern for both patient and employee well being. 3. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Maximum visual and communication skills are required. 2. Manual dexterity to use audio-visual equipment, calculators, and computers is required. 3. Majority of work is sedentary, although some standing and walking are required.
