3 Combine study and practice Curriculum and skills transfer Entry to the IBA degree programme Admission and application Bachelor degree and professional experience - in 6 semesters From the very first semester, the selected specialisation or focus forms a fixed part of the curriculum. There is a framework for the practical work in the company within the respective sector. The 5 th and 6 th semesters deepen subject-specific study content in the form of elective modules. Within the framework of the knowledge transfer between theory and practice, the theory content is applied to solving operational problems. Written assessments include practice reports, a project paper and, finally, the bachelor dissertation. The dialogue between learning and practice also takes place in regular meetings, including between the company and IBA teaching staff. In these meetings, the companies give a practicerelevant impulse to the study Programme duration and graduation The IBA dual study programme culminates after 6 semesters in the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree. The IBA is a state recognised university of cooperative education with accredited degree programmes. Therefore, a degree gained at the IBA is recognised in higher education law as equivalent to that awarded by a university. The bachelor qualification enhances international comparability and qualifies the holder for professional activity or entry to a master degree Routes to the dual study programme For admission to the dual study programme at the IBA, the following two criteria must be met: Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Meisterprüfung or comparable advanced vocational qualification. Contract with a placement company Basis of contract: 1. A learning agreement between the placement company, the student and the IBA. 2. A contract specifying the internal obligations between the student and the placement company. Applying for a company placement The IBA has a nationwide network of companies in various sectors, which, together with the IBA, offers the practical component of the dual study The pre-selection of applicants is carried out by the IBA, via the online application process: In addition, prospective applicants should make direct contact with other companies concerning the possibility of completing the practical placement component of the dual study programme within the organisation. Tuition fees and finance Tuition fees start at 530 euros per month. As a rule, the fee is covered by remuneration from the placement company. Students transfer their scientific knowledge directly to your company. The IBA bachelor degree also opens the door to subsequent masters degree study (for example campus-based or via distance learning at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft, Technik und Kultur), or to a PhD.
