Thanks to the convergence of technologies like VoIP (Voice over IP) and the logical extension of standards such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) communication is increasingly being integrated with the classic company IT applications. A smart combination of Mitel BusinessCTI with mail servers, any existing CRM (customer relationship management) or ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems plus any other databases, through the Mitel Communication systems, brings together all the business applications that are capable of communicating. This significantly increases employee efficiency. Mitel BusinessCTI Mitel BusinessCTI offers CTI, Presence Management and Instant Messaging, together with functions to improve collaboration within the enterprise and beyond its boundaries (federation). Computer Telephony Integration Using CTI, calls can be initiated or accepted and then ended using the mouse, by selecting names in PC applications (CRM or ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word or Outlook). And functions such as callback or call forwarding as well as transferring calls or creating conferences are all available. Typically, CTI programs also display the caller name if their number is held in an enterprise database. And they also allow you to control your own presence (activate call diversion to a colleague, voic or cellphone), as well as listening to your voice mailbox via your PC. This application is also perfectly suited to collaboration with existing ITC infrastructures. With BusinessCTI, Mitel is providing an application that integrates seamlessly with existing company structures. It optimizes user workflows, simplifies repetitive chores and minimizes opportunities for errors.

3 UC goes one step further Unified Communications (UC) picks up where CTI leaves off, and goes a significant step further. UC applications such as Mitel BusinessCTI display all the available contact information for a requested contact or for team members (presence management) and offer not only traditional phone services but also other media such as chat, video chat, or SMS. This means that the user has the ability to select the communication media they want from a single interface. Unified Communications means combining the different media with the aim of making business communication more efficient and simpler overall. Mitel BusinessCTI offers comprehensive solutions that no longer just optimize the working processes of individual employees, but of the enterprise communication as a whole including external business partners. Contact data management Mitel BusinessCTI enables rapid and simple access to contact data and information of any kind. Thanks to the clear screen interface, intuitive use is no problem. The search function is contact-oriented, can be accelerated by the use of filters, and extended to use companyspecific parameters - and personal settings are also supported to an (almost) unlimited extent by Mitel BusinessCTI. INCOMING CALLS - AT A GLANCE The Mitel BusinessCTI could not be easier to use: When a call arrives from a known contact, the contact details are automatically opened. This means that colleagues always have the important information about customers, vendors and partners in front of them and can follow on seamlessly from the most recent call. For an unknown caller, you can attach contact details to the number, or can create a new contact. You can easily add notes to a conversation that are then available the next time they call - to all team members. Smartphone Integration A new feature is the ability to integrate Mitel BusinessCTI Client via Bluetooth to a smartphone linked to the PC. The following functions are supported: pop-up on call, presence display, initiate calls, answer, put on hold and forward. IT S ALL ABOUT CONTACTS: FAVORITES Mitel BusinessCTI is built around personal contacts and offers a lot of flexibility, for example special classification of important business partners. But BusinessCTI does not work only within your own company, it also allows external contacts to be included by way of federations. As well as displaying contact details such as phone and presence status, the application also allows access to multiple other functions. In the context menu you can select directly which medium is to be used to reach a contact.

4 A call can be started by clicking the mouse, an SMS or may be sent or a chat opened up depending which of the media seems most appropriate. What is more, these functions are not only available directly in BusinessCTI but can also be used from Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.). In addition, Mitel BusinessCTI informs you when certain people become available again (tagging). This is particularly practical if you are waiting for a colleague to be back at his/her desk to ask them a question. CONTACT DATA AND DIRECTORIES For employees, availability of all the directory data held in the company is a key factor. Mitel BusinessCTI offers all the necessary interfaces to make data available from a wide range of directories. This includes being able to use contact data from Microsoft Outlook or Exchange, and also from a CRM or ERP system used within the company, from external directories and even public phone listings. This makes it considerably easier for employees to find contact details. YOUR OWN STATUS By synchronizing telephony and the Outlook calendar, your own up-to-date status is always displayed. This means that colleagues and partners (remember - federation) can always see if the person they want to speak to is available right now, or not. Of course, you can manually over-ride your status, for example if a meeting ends earlier than the time given in the Outlook calendar, or if you do not want to be disturbed for a time. It is easy to control your own availability using the presence status. If a meeting is planned in Outlook then your presence status is automatically set by Outlook. BusinessCTI then makes sure that, for example, all calls are diverted to the voice mailbox during the meeting, while the user can still be reached using chat options. Using the Mitel MetaDirectory, all current contact databases can be brought together this consolidated address pool can be made available to all users as a webbased phone directory. EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL WITH THE LOG Anyone who needs to keep a watch on communications will find the log a must-have: it contains a list of all incoming, outgoing and missed calls with date and time, duration of Call, the name and number of the other party it allows entries to be processed (attach notes, make or schedule a call back, etc.) this makes it the ideal way to review a hectic day at work and not only for people who are always on the phone.

5 Mitel BusinessCTI Analytics Using Mitel BusinessCTI Analytics, you can provide simple and graphically attractive communications data. The insights these provide can help in decision-making relating to investments in infrastructure and training. Personal Networking: Federation A federation is a special trusted network for the users of communication systems. Why it is special: it creates a secure communication structure within and between organizations and companies. A federation is especially of interest for teams working across companies. Within this structure, each company defines for themselves the quality of information they are willing to share. At the same time, they decide which services and systems may be used to exchange this information. Typical communication services that are used within a federation today are presence management and instant messaging (chat). The presence management within a federation allows the sharing of presence information across company boundaries, for example with partners and customers. If someone is online and can be reached, then you can just reach for the phone. Or just as easily send a text message and expect an instant reply (instant messaging, chat). Infrastructure bottlenecks and difficulties in employee communication behavior can be identified, enabling the company s accessibility to be improved. And this in turn will improve customer satisfaction. This optional add-on module offers predefined analysis of customers, employees and projects, as well as a Management Summary. All evaluations can be displayed in common browsers, exported or printed.
