Bauer, Silver Creek, NY, is hereby appointed to the position of Registered Professional Nurse, effective August 27, 2014, Step 1, $39,579 pro rata. August 27, 2014 marks the beginning of a six-month probationary period. NOTE: Ms. Bauer will be assigned to School Five where she replaces Jane Halas-Dudek who retired.

August 27, 2014 marks the beginning of a six-month probationary period. NOTE: Ms. Schreiner will be assigned to School Three where she replaces Melony Feser who retired.

8 3 Appointment of Registered Professional Nurse RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Erica A. Cole, Dunkirk, NY, is hereby appointed to the position of Registered Professional Nurse, effective August 27, 2014, Step 1, $39,579 pro rata. August 27, 2014 marks the beginning of a six-month probationary period. NOTE: Ms. Cole will be assigned to the High School where she replaces Suzanne Merle who retired.

9 4 Appointment of Temporary Art Teacher RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Natalie Korchowsky, Buffalo, NY, is hereby appointed to the temporary position of Art teacher, effective August 27, 2014 for the school year, Step 1, Column B, $40, pro rata. NOTE: Ms. Korchowsky s assignment will be at the High School filling the vacancy for Gretchen Weidner who is on leave.

10 5 Appointment of Temporary ESL Teacher RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Jennifer Grosjean, West Seneca, NY, is hereby appointed to the temporary position of ESL teacher, effective August 27, 2014 through June 30, 2016, Step 1, Column B, $40, pro rata. NOTE: Ms. Grosjean s assignment will be at the Middle & High Schools filling the vacancy for Cynthia Carlson s leave.

11 6 Appointment of Typist RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Sara L. Artrip, Fredonia, NY, is hereby appointed to the positon of Typist effective August 25, 2014, $ per hour. Her six-month probationary period will commence August 25, NOTE: Ms. Artrip will be assigned to the Middle School office where she replaces Laurie Barberich who transferred.

12 7 Appointment of Clerk II (Spanish Speaking) RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Jennifer M. Montanez, Dunkirk, NY, is hereby appointed to the positon of Clerk II (Spanish Speaking), effective August 25, 2014, $ per hour. Her six-month probationary period will commence August 25, NOTE: Ms. Montanez will be assigned to the High School office where she replaces Jessica Vasquez who resigned.

15 10 Appointment of Regents Review Staff RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the following individuals are hereby appointed as regents review staff: Timothy Majka Jillian Domenico Dawn Hoth Anna Alvira US History Global Studies Comprehensive English (ELA) Algebra NOTE: The regents review program ran August 6-12, 2014, from Noon to 3:00 PM at the High School.

16 11 Approval for Extension of Food Service Agreement RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the original agreement dated August 9, 2012 between the Dunkirk City School District and Sodexo Management, Inc. be extended for the period September 1, 2014 until August 31, 2015 with costs increased by the July 2014 CPI for New York and Northeastern New Jersey, as specified by the NYS Department of Education, and be if further RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to execute all required documentation to accomplish the extension. NOTE: July 2014 CPI is estimated between 1.5% and 2.5%, however, not published until the third week of August. Approval is sought to expedite execution prior to the beginning of the school year.

17 12 Confirmation of Assessment Roll & Tax Levy RESOLVED, that the assessment roll of taxable property in the City School District of the City of Dunkirk be accepted and confirmed as of this day as the official assessment roll for the fiscal year and be it further RESOLVED, that a tax of $9,455,854 for the purpose as specified in the school budget for the school year be levied upon and collected from all taxable inhabitants and property included in the City School District of the City of Dunkirk, New York, and that the proper tax warrant be executed and attached to the school tax rolls, such warrant to be signed by a majority of the officers and members of the Board of Education of said School District and that such school tax roll with warrant attached and duly signed be delivered to the School Tax Collector, and be it further RESOLVED, that the School Tax Collector be directed to collect said taxes from September 15, 2014 through and including October 17, 2014 with no penalty, and that she be directed to collect said taxes from October 20, 2014 through and including October 24, 2014 with two per centum (2%) penalty added, after which period the School Tax Collector shall discontinue collecting school taxes and shall return the warrant in accordance with the law.

18 13 Approval for Publication of Tax Collector Notice WHEREAS publication of notice of the Tax Schedule is required by New York State Law, therefore, be it RESOLVED that the attached TAX COLLECTOR NOTICE be published in the official newspaper of the School District for the edification of the Taxpayers of the District.

19 14 Approval of the School Resource Officer Agreement WHEREAS, the Dunkirk City School District (the District ) and the City of Dunkirk (the City ) desire to provide law enforcement and related services at the District s High School through the use of a School Resource Officer provided by the City of Dunkirk; and WHEREAS, the District and the City has enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship utilizing a School Resource Office in the past and wish to continue the relationship; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Dunkirk City School District Board of Education hereby authorizes and directs the Superintendent of Schools to execute the require documents to enter into an Agreement with the City of Dunkirk, Central Avenue, Dunkirk, New York, 14048, for the City to provide a School Resource Officer for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, at a cost of ten thousand, four hundred & ten dollars and seventy-seven cents ($10,410.77) per month.

21 16 Approval to Purchase Lawn Mower WHEREAS, the Dunkirk City School District ( District ) has need for improvements including the purchase of a John Deere Z930M Z-Track, and WHEREAS, the District has determined, after careful consideration, that such a purchase through the Chautauqua County Notice of Award July 23, 2014, a competitive bid award, will result in cost savings and accordingly is in the best interests of the District. Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the Board of Education of the Dunkirk City School District hereby approves the purchase of a John Deere Z930M Z-Track through the New York State July 23, 2014 Bid Award, for a total cost not to exceed $8, from Z & M Ag and Turf under proposal number PC63461.
