2 CIPD Level 7 Advanced qualifications are the most widely-recognised professional qualifications in the field of HR and Development. Studying a CIPD level 7 Advanced qualification will help you develop your breadth of knowledge and specialise in your chosen area. The Advanced Diploma will also provide a pathway to Chartered Membership. CIPD Advanced Level qualifications enable you to learn how to develop and implement creative and strategic HR solutions that drive organisational performance. You will also be able to develop your understanding of organisations and the external context within which HR operates. CIPD Advanced qualifications are ideal for those who: are responsible for HR decision making within an organisation at an operational, tactical or more strategic level have responsibility for the HR function and activities within an organisation, including HR development are working as an independent or employed HRM/HRD consultant, supporting organisations in meeting their goals Able to undertake academic study at postgraduate level aspire to become a Chartered member of CIPD. Benefits: CIPD Advanced Level Certificate and Diploma qualifications provide you with a professionally recognised qualification and a professional level of membership, Associate (Assoc CIPD). CIPD Advanced Diplomas also allow you to gain recognition for your HRM or HRD experience through CIPD Chartered membership (Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow). This programme is suitable for people who: - Have responsibility for HR decision making within an organisation at either operational, tactical or more strategic level. Are HR professionals within a team or HR functional management role who seeking to enhance and develop their career. Have responsibilities for the HR function activities within an organisation without a specialist function, or are independent or employed consultants who support organisations in meeting their goals and have career and CIPD professional membership aspirations.

3 We offer a flexible range of Advanced qualifications that vary in size, content and length. You ll gain credits for successfully completed units and the total number achieved will equate to: an Advanced Certificate (medium-scope qualification). an Advanced Diploma (the largest and most extensive qualification) The Certificate qualification (60 credits) is a total of 600 study hours of which 300 hours should be private study. On average it can take 6-9 months to complete. 4 Leadership and Management Development 15 Knowledge Management and Organisational Learning 15 Understanding and Implementing Coaching and Mentoring 15 Level 7 Advanced Diplomas A Diploma qualification is the highest size qualification at this level. This qualification enables you to develop your skills of HR and L&D through undertaking more modules and through widening your breadth of HR and L&D knowledge further. There are two Advanced Level Diploma qualifications: CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Development Students are able to gain credits for completed modules. A Diploma qualification is a total of 120 credits. A Diploma (120 credits) is a total of 1200 study hours of which 600 should be private study. On average it can take months to complete. Core units Both Advanced Diploma qualifications in Human Resource Management and Development share the same four core units (60 credits) that students must take: Unit name Credit value Human Resource Management in Context 15 Leading, Managing and Developing People 15 Developing Skills for Business Leadership 15 Investigating a Business Issue from a Human Resources Perspective 15

5 Optional units Depending on whether you undertake the programme as part of the open programme or as an in-house programme you can choose to undertake the remaining 60 credits through the selection of the following options (depending on availability). Unit name Credit value Organisational Design and Development 15 Resourcing and Talent Management 15 Performance Management 15 Reward Management 15 Employee Engagement 15 Learning and Talent Development 15 Designing, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision 15 Leadership and Management Development 15 Knowledge Management and Organisational Learning 15 Understanding and Implementing Coaching and Mentoring 15 Gaining professional membership of CIPD There are three levels of professional membership Associate member (Assoc CIPD) - you are typically providing professional advice to managers across the business and supporting the HR function.

6 Chartered Member (Chartered MCIPD) - you are typically managing, developing and implementing HR policies that support organisational objectives. Chartered Fellow (Chartered FCIPD) - you are typically leading the development of strategic HR plans that drive sustained business performance. Chartered Fellows are expected to have a broad HR knowledge across most areas in addition to any specialisms. Completing the level 7 Advanced Diploma will enable you to apply for the Chartered Fellow membership status. Course Delivery Assessments For the core units, assessments differ from unit to unit. There are nationally assessed exams for two of the four core units; Leading, managing and developing people and HR Management in context. In addition, the core unit, Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective, comprises a management research report. For the optional units, assessments differ from unit to unit - they range from traditional written assignments, to more practical skills demonstrations, or delivered presentations. None of the optional units are assessed by examination. Induction All of the programmes begin with a face-to-face induction where you will: meet your facilitator and the rest of your study group discuss your timetable for the programme along with any assignments or exams you arer equired to complete discuss with your facilitator how to set clear study goals and how best to achieve them get advice on how to structure your own personal study time begin sharing ideas with others in your study group. Group workshops/dates You will attend a workshop, per module, and complete assessed work connected to each. The workshops are lively, interactive and practical with a strong focus on workplace application. For our open programme Lunch and refreshments are provided also. During your workshops your facilitator will guide you through practical exercises to develop your skills and help you to explore and discuss the theory behind principles and models. The assessment activities at this Advanced Level are designed to equip you with the ability to apply learning in practice within your own organisation and your work role.

7 Dates for 205/2016 for Certificate/diploma programme are as follows: 13 th -18 th September nd -27 th November th -24 th April th August 2016 E-Coaching For the duration of the course each delegate will be allocated an e-coach who will provide one to one support and guidance via phone, or via the online learning platform. The Online Learning Community You'll be able to network with other delegates throughout your studies, face-to-face at the group workshops and online via the online learning platform giving each other valuable support and advice and sharing your ideas and different perspectives. You will be expected to participate in online discussion forums, and are invited to make relevant professional posts for the benefit of the learning community.
