The survey also focuses on providers' propensity to outsource, their infrastructure investment and IT purchasing process. Key findings and highlights With tightening budgets and constant pressure to improve standards of care, providers are increasingly looking to IT to contain costs and maximize efficiency, rather than generate revenue. Implementing clinical information systems, such as EHR and PACS, currently rank as the most important spending priority among providers. In , the majority of available ICT budgets will have either increased or remained flat. While growth will be somewhat tempered in , this trend will remain similar. Encouragingly for vendors, there is good visibility into 2007 IT budgets, with decreases appearing unlikely.
