2 Scholarship Guide Scholarships are a good resource because you don t have to pay back the money you receive! Scholarships are given by many resources including governmental organizations, companies, individuals, and more. You can be considered for a scholarship based a variety of traits including financial need, ethnicity, gender, and more. 3 Colorado Scholarships In order to apply for these scholarships, you MUST be a resident of Colorado. Latin America Educational Foundation Eligibility: Hispanic decent, accepted to accredited college/university, minimum 3.0 GPA, involved in Hispanic community and agree to fulfill 10 hours of community service during year of award. College Goal Sunday Colorado Eligibility: Attendance to the annual College Goal Sunday Colorado event Elevations Credit Union Provides a variety of scholarships and grants in support of higher education. The Alexander Foundation Applicant must be a part of the GLBT community. Award amounts vary. Kit Faragher Foundation Scholarship Colorado students who have earned a high school GPA of 2.5, are in need of financial assistance for college, university, or technical school, and who also capture Kit's essence by demonstrating a positive attitude, strong commitment, and a drive towards accomplishment. Linda Fenner Young Women s Scholarship Program Eligibility: Jewish woman, between ages 21 and ACADEMY of NATURAL THERAPY SCHOLARSHIPS Sole Scholarship Students must write a one-page typed essay, totaling 500 words or more, stating their background, interest in massage therapy, objectives of their educational pursuits, career plans, financial needs, leadership positions and why they believe they deserve this scholarship. Good Student Scholarship Aids students in their first year of college at the Academy of Natural Therapy. Eligibility: Must sign enrollment contract for 1,000 hour or Associate s Degree program and have a previous GPA from another institution of Right Path Scholarship Aids students in their first year of college. Eligibility: Must be a recent high school graduate that will enroll directly into the Academy of Natural Therapy. Family and Friends Scholarship The Family and Friends Scholarship is an opportunity for students to receive scholarship money when their friends and family attend the Academy of Natural Therapy!Sole Scholarship 10 3

4 Massage Scholarships Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE) seeks to promote leadership and campus involvement, academic and personal success, and community engagement by offering scholarships to it s student members. Scholarships include: Kazimour. Scholarships undergraduate students, The Founder s Scholarship and The ANTSHE Board of Directors Scholarship and others. Verl and Dorothy Miller Native American Vocational Scholarship is for Native American residents of Oregon who are seeking vocational training or certification. receive/scholarships The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) offers an annual scholarship to those pursuing a career in massage therapy. Applicants must be enrolled in, or admitted, in a 500-hour minimum entry-level massage therapy program at the time the scholarship application is submitted. 5 Non-Traditional Scholarships Colorado Business and Professional Women s Foundation (CBPWEF) Scholarships for women aged 25 years or older. Applications accepted twice a year and awards vary. Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS Program awards high school seniors tuition prizes. student/sweepstakes Massage Without Borders has been set up to provide information and resources to help colleagues in times of natural disasters. They currently have their Adopt-A-Student scholarship available to students who are currently enrolled in a massage program. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to sons and daughters of current or former United States Marines in their pursuit of higher education. Jeannette Rankin Women s Scholarship Fund Eligibility: women aged 35 years or older, U.S. citizen, pursuing first technical/vocational education, associate s or bachelor s degree, low-income. The International Spa Foundation provides students of massage therapy a variety of scholarships throughout the year. 8 Patsy Takemoto Mink Education for Low-Income Women and Children Eligibility: woman at least 17 years of age, mother with minor children, enrolled in technical/vocational degree program, lowincome. Charlie Wootan Grant Program Eligibility: resident of Texas. First-come, first-served, need-based grant program will provide up to $4,000 per successful applicant for the academic year. The Massage Therapy Foundation Research Grants are awarded to those conducting studies that seek to advance our understanding of specific therapeutic applications of massage, public perceptions of and attitudes toward massage therapy, and the role of massage therapy in health care delivery

6 6 Open Scholarships These scholarship opportunities are open virtually anyone, and they contain little to no eligibility requirements. College Prowler provides $50,000+ in scholarships every year. Barbera Wiedner and Dorothy Vandercook Memorial Peace Eligibility: high school senior in first year of college that has demonstrated leadership and personal initiative in activities involving: Peace and Social Justice, Nuclear Disarmament, and/or Conflict Resolution. Barbara Mandigo Kelly Peace Poetry Award Open to people worldwide, poems must be original, unpublished and in English. vocational training courses that take longer than 6 weeks to complete AXA Achievement Scholarship in association with U.S. News & World Report provides $670,000 in annual scholarships to young people throughout the nation. CBCF General Mills Health Scholarship Program Eligibility: must live in a Congressional Black Caucus district, plan to enroll full-time, minimum 2.75 GPA. Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway a nationwide promotion for the college football season in which they will give away over $750,000 in tuition assistance. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program is open to students who demonstrate the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Up to fifteen scholarships of $10,000 will be awarded to students around the world. PG&E Bright Minds Scholarship Program Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study.
