2 History Started in years ago Established as a Traffic Mitigation Program Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda Schools Elementary, Middle School and High School Funded by Measure C and Parent Fees

3 PUSD Joins LSBTA LSBP Run by a Joint Powers Authority (LSBTA) 3 Cities, 4 School Districts Board Members Elected Officials (City Council & School Board) PUSD joined JPA in May 2009

4 Benefits from Joining LSBTA School Bus Administration: 14 years of experience Contracted low price with FIRST STUDENT (competitive bids) Brand New Buses with seat belts (note buses are SAFE, SAFE without belts!) Buses meet the latest EPA emissions standards GPS on each bus

5 How it Works LSBTA contracts with FIRST STUDENT FIRST STUDENT develops routes and potential bus stops (4 buses) Routes and Bus Stops become more refined over the Summer School Buses run 1 st day of school Buses will run for all bell times, except 8:00 a.m. enrichment

6 First Student Drivers Certified by CHP/DMV to drive school buses. Certification = classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training Trained in pupil management skills Screened for alcohol and drugs + subject to random testing Security cleared via: 1. Dept. of Justice; 2. CHP; and 3. Third party criminal background investigation

7 How to Register On Line Registration is required! Community Meeting June 4 th 7:00-8:30 Piedmont Middle School Please register after June 8th at Choose the route and bus stop closest to your home Parents receive by mail, mid-august 1. A laminated bus pass 2. Updated route and schedule
