Solids Centrifugation Solids Centrifugation Following the implementation of the Landfill Directive, industry has needed to fundamentally change the way in which it manages the disposal of oil sludges and associated wastes. Our objective is to provide a sustainable cost effective solution which maximises recovery of hydrocarbons and recyclable inert fractions and minimises both the volume and organic content of waste going to landfill. Waste types suitable: Pumpable and non-pumpable oil sludges Interceptor waste Tank bottoms Hydrocarbon wastes with inbound inert solids Receipt via vacuum tankers, skips, drums, waste safes Tradebe offers a fixed plant solution for the comprehensive treatment and recovery of oil contaminated liquids, sludges and solids. Using technology developed by our sister company Willacy Oil Services we are able to: Recover & recycle 80 90% of the oil content Recycle inert fractions Separate and treat water content Minimise waste for disposal

High Temperature Thermal Desorber High Temperature Thermal Desorber Tradebe is leading the way in providing a sustainable option for the recovery of organics from intractable liquid, sludge and solids contaminated with organic compounds. We have been issued the first UK permit for a vacuum Thermal Desorber at our recycle facility near Sheffield. Commissioned in the summer of 2009, it has a capacity of 15,000 t.p.a. Our parent company, Grupo Tradebe has extensive experience of Thermal Desorption and operates 3 plants in Spain and 1 in the U.S. which recover hydrocarbons from dewatered sludges Waste types accepted: Oil sludges Contaminated soil Filter cakes Paint sludges Phosphate sludges Receipt via vacuum tankers, skips, drums, WastePods Desorption Process: The process operates at 400 o C under vacuum to heat organic contaminated solids. Volatile components are evaporated from inert solids and metals. The gas is then collected in a closed system by use of a condenser, prior to recovery and use as a fuel. The Desorbed Solids are then passed over a magnetic separator to recover the ferrous fractions. The remaining solids can then be classified as non-hazardous and in many cases suitable for aggregate replacement.

Low Temperature Thermal Desorption Low Temperature Thermal Desorption Tradebe continues to invest in the development of innovative technologies for the treatment of problematic hazardous waste. The focus of the development is to provide processes which are sustainable and recover, recycle or re-use with our aim of zero to landfill and a negative carbon footprint. A UK based recovery process offering an alternative to Transfrontier shipment of flammable waste to Europe. Tradebe operates a low temperature desorption unit at our Recycle Centre near Sheffield. Waste types accepted: Paint solids, liquids & sludges Inks solids, liquids & sludges Adhesives solids, liquids & sludges Resins solids, liquids & sludges Desorption Process The process operates at temperatures of 200 o C. Volatile organic compounds are distilled and the volatile fractions recondense to produce a thinner material or a support fuel. The solid residues are rendered nonhazardous and suitable for aggregate recovery

Solvent Blending Solvent Blending Tradebe produces fuel from waste organic materials that cannot be recovered by traditional solvent refining techniques, helping to reduce reliance on finite fossil fuels. The research into the use of alternative fuels derived from waste material, increased with the introduction of the Landfill Directive which restricted the disposal of organic waste material to landfill. The Recycle Centre at Dinnington was designed for the blending and recovery of solvent based wastes. Our 1,500 tonne capacity tank farm is fully nitrogen blanketed and the site is operated as an ATEX facility to allow the safe handling of low flash materials. Solvents are blended to a strict specification to produce a high calorific value material for use as a support or secondary liquid fuel for industry as a partial replacement for fossil fuels. Waste types processed: Non-halogenated solvents Halogenated solvents Solvent based compounds

Physico-Chemical Treatment Physico-chemical Treatment Our process sites offer flexible options and environmentally friendly cost effective solutions for the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid wastes. Individual waste stream assessment is crucial in designing the most cost effective treatment solution and all waste streams are assessed at one of our in-house laboratories. Tradebe can process up to 750,000 tonnes of industrial liquid and sludge waste a year across our major physico-chemical treatment sites. Waste material is fully treated using neutralisation, metals precipitation, redox treatment and oil removal before blending and finally filter-pressing to achieve a balanced effluent suitable for discharge and a filter cake suitable for either recycling or disposal. Process Technologies available include: Solids filtration & centrifugation ph adjustment Oil water separation/recovery Dissolved Air Flotation. Ultra filtration Neutralisation Redox treatment Metals precipitation Waste types suitable: Pumpable and non-pumpable oil sludges Landfill leachate Contaminated waters Inorganic and organic acids Alkali Ammonia Amines Heavy metal contaminated wastes Spray booth and paint waste Oil/water mixtures and emulsions Heavy metal contaminated waste

Biological Waste Treatment Biological Waste Treatment With the option of in-house or local partners, specialist biological treatment centres offer a variety of treatment options, including full biological and anaerobic digestion. Liquid wastes are treated to remove solids with biological treatment to remove carbonaceous matter and ammonia. The resulting purified liquid effluent and bio-solids are disposed of using fully approved methods. Effluents can be blended with bio-solids from aerobic treatment to produce a cost effective treatment for high COD wastes. This mixture is broken down biologically to produce methane that is burnt on-site for power generation. Waste Types Suitable: High COD waste, leachate, pharmaceutical and cosmetic wastes, chemical wastes, food wastes and contaminated waters including: Ammonia Amines Acetic acid Scrubber liquors Paint, ink and dye wastes Landfill leachates

High Temperature Incineration High Temperature Incineration provides the highest level of secure & reliable disposal for hazardous organic wastes. Our plant at Fawley complies with all European legal and environmental requirements and is a cost effective means of securely disposing of customers combustible waste. At temperatures in excess of 1100 o C we can guarantee complete destruction of hazardous waste resulting in non-hazardous residues with typical volume reductions of up to 80%. There are four main routes into our High Temperature Incineration kiln: 1. Liquid and gas injection for drums, bulk, Iso-tanks and gas cylinders 2. Shredder for IBCs, metal/plastic drums and palletised material including aerosols 3. Hoist for more reactive materials packaged in up to 205l drums 4. Bulk solids acceptable in skips/tippers/tankers and IBC/IBBs Types of waste Licensed to dispose of all types of hazardous and non-hazardous waste as defined by the Hazardous Waste Regulations The site also has an EPR10/RSA93 licence for accumulation and disposal of low-level radioactive wastes. 10 Waste to Energy Plant Waste to Energy Plant We are currently exporting energy from the process of fluidised bed incineration of hazardous waste. The waste to energy plant exports 34,000 megawatt hours of electricity every year enough to supply 7250 UK households. In line with UK government and regulator policy, Tradebe have invested significantly in this national asset to help relieve some of the challenge of wastes (both hazardous and non hazardous) that are no longer suitable for landfill. Waste Types: Oil Sludges Contaminated wood Meat and bone meal Shredded hazardous and non hazardous waste Contaminated packaging and PPE This EPC permitted plant has capacity to process up to 60,000 tonnes of waste per annum. Our recently extended permit allows various hazardous wastes through this facility and is the first merchant hazardous waste incinerator with energy recovery in the UK.

Transfer Station Transfer Station Tradebe own and operate a network of strategically located, permitted transfer stations designed for the storage, segregation and processing of your waste at our treatment facilities, in full compliance with UK legislation.
