1 Exercise Guide for Online Application Users for e- of Employment Income e-service Steps to Complete Exercise The Exercise is meant to prepare employers who are new to the AIS for their first submission in Jan. In this Exercise, you will download a trial software that simulates the Online Application s preparation and submission process. Thereafter, you will have to submit the Code to complete the Exercise. Please note that the actual Online Application resides in mytax Portal. During the live submission period in Jan 06, you have to login into mytax Portal directly to access the Online Application for the preparation and submission of actual employment income information to IRAS. No downloading is required. Please refer to the Steps to Complete Exercise on the left menu to guide you along the process. > Businesses > Employers > Auto-Inclusion Scheme (AIS) for Employment Income > Participating in the Exercise Simulation of mytax Portal Page

You do not have to enter the actual income and deduction amounts. No information will be submitted to IRAS during the Exercise. Prepare IR8S for Excess CPF Prepare Appendix 8A for Benefits-In- Kind Prepare Appendix 8B for share option gains These forms are not available for Exercise.

5 Exercise Employee Records Created To create more employee records Import Employees Particulars From Past s (Not Available for this Exercise) To edit contact details Print IR8A (Not Available for this Exercise) Back to AIS Online Application Menu To edit employee record To delete employee record Import Function In the live Online Application, the Import function allows you to import the personal particulars of your past submissions that were submitted via the Online Application. Where there are changes to the personal particulars of your imported employee records (e.g. change of address, or change of nationality), please update the records before you submit them to IRAS. Print IR8A and Appendices Function In the live Online Application, the Print IR8A and Appendices function allows you to print the forms of the records you have prepared. If you wish to print just a summary of the records for submission instead of the full forms, please use the Print This Page function at the Summary Page (next step). Erroneous Records Upon clicking the <Proceed to Summary> button, the Online Application will validate the prepared employee records for errors. If there are errors, the records will be highlighted in red and listed at the top of all the records. Please click on the <Edit> icon of the erroneous record to rectify the error(s) within the record. Only when all errors have been rectified, you will then be able to proceed to the Summary Page.

In this Exercise, you are required to generate and submit Code to complete the whole process. The records will not be submitted to IRAS for processing. 6

Before you are able to submit the Code, please check that you have done authorisation for the e- of Employment Income e-service The authorisation can done via the e-services Authorisation System (EASY). Authorisation Guide: > Businesses > Employers > Auto-Inclusion Scheme (AIS) for Employment Income > Authorising staff/third party to submit You have to submit the Code to IRAS via mytax Portal. this option <SingPass> If this is your first login, you will be prompted to fill up the Contact Details. 10 Exercise The trial version of the Online Application cannot be used for live submission. Please uninstall the trial version of the Online Application before the live submission period in January. For Windows (For Windows 7) Go to Start > Control Panel (For Windows 8 ) Switch to desktop view and press the Windows key and the X key (i.e. + ) together on your keyboard to open a menu at the bottom of the screen. Control Panel. For Mac (For Mac) Go to System Preferences from your desktop. AIS Online Application TRIAL VERSION AIS Online Application TRIAL VERSION Computer Desktop Computer Desktop Change View by to Large icons. Look for the Java icon and run the program. Look for the Java icon and run the program. NOTE: The steps for both Windows and MAC operating systems are the same from this step onwards. The Java Control Panel will be displayed. on View in the Temporary Internet Files under the General tab to launch the Java Cache Viewer. 0

11 Exercise Applications in the combo box. To remove the trial version of the e- application, select the application and click on button. AIS Online Application TRIAL VERSION Once the button is clicked, the following dialog will appear. AIS Online Application Version The Java Cache Viewer will refresh and the application selected for removal will not appear. Please note that the shortcuts created on the desktop and at the Start menu will also be removed. To ensure that the Application is completely removed.
