2 OUTDOOR VENUE HIRE Hold your next function in the ambient surrounds of Melbourne Zoo. Sheltered picnic pavilions and picturesque lawn areas are available for hire. For larger groups the whole Zoo is available. Pavilions FOR HIRE Picnic Pavilions can accommodate up to 50 people; facilities include a table, lighting, power outlet and water tap. Booking is from 9am to 5pm. You are welcome to bring your own seats. LAWNS FOR HIRE Lawn areas are also available for hire, ideal for outdoor picnics. Marquees may be set up on the lawns under certain conditions available from 9am - 5pm (ref to marquees in terms and conditions). Refer to the enclosed map for the designated lawn areas. Sunset Zoo Do s Recommended for people hosting 1,000-3,500 people. Venue available from 5.30pm to 9.00pm. Please refer to Zoo Do information sheet. Melbourne Zoo Bookings and Tickets Office PO Box 74 Parkville VIC 3052 T F E zvsales@zoo.org.au Cancellation & Substitution Policy A refund is available in the following circumstances, if the client gives: More than 30 days notice of cancellation prior to the function date - full refund of site fees days notice - 50% refund of site fee Less than 14 days notice - no refund A no rain check or refund policy is strictly enforced on outdoor venue hire and general admission tickets. Melbourne Zoo is predominantly an outdoor venue and is subject to varying weather conditions. In line with normal zoo policy, no refund will be issued on venue hire or general admission ticketing for events cancelled due to inclement weather. If a booked venue becomes unavailable through circumstances beyond our control, the management reserves the right to offer an alternative venue, depending on availability.

3 SUNSET ZOO DO S Looking for an exciting location for your next function? You can book the entire Melbourne Zoo for your next company event. We can provide a wonderful wildlife experience in the heart of the city and give you the opportunity to entertain colleagues and guests in a truly unique setting. WHAT YOU GET + Exclusive use of Melbourne Zoo lawns and pavilions from pm as per contract. + Guests can view most zoo animals until 7.30pm and attend up to 3 keeper presentations between pm. Some animals can be seen until 9.00pm. + Assistance with organising activities for your guests including entertainment such as face painters, temporary tattoo artists etc. + Access to the Bandstand situated in the Zoo lawns for your band, including a sound and lighting technician. Note it is compulsory to book a band to provide an entertaining and enjoyable evening for your guests. We can assist with sourcing a band or happy for you to book your preferred band directly. + Zoo map highlighting keeper talks and entertainment times + Food and drink kiosks can be organised with vouchers for your guests. Or guests can bring in their own picnic hampers and alcohol. + After 5.30pm free public car parking is available around the outside of the Melbourne Zoo (subject to availability). Postage: $7.00 (registered post) T Disabled Access The Melbourne Zoo grounds are accessible to people with disabilities. DIRECTIONS By Public Transport Trains stop at Royal Park station on the Upfield line, Monday to Sunday. Take tram 55 from William Street in the city (Monday to Saturday). Tram 19 from Elizabeth Street stops daily in Royal Parade, just a short walk from the Zoo. By Car Parking is available at the eastern, northern and southern sides of the Zoo. This car park is owned and operated by the City of Melbourne; We cannot accept responsibility for the safety of any vehicles left in any of the public car parks. EMERGENCIES In an emergency please follow the directions of Zoo staff. First Aid A First Aid service operates during normal opening hours 365 days a year. The service also operates for after hours Sunset Zoo Do s. Please contact a staff member if you require assistance, or go directly to reception at the Main Gate. Lost People If a member of your group goes missing, please contact a staff member or go directly to reception for assistance. Reception is the meeting point for lost people.

5 TERMS & CONDITIONS The client agrees to abide by these terms and conditions when payment for booking is made. Alcohol Visitors may bring their own alcohol into the Zoo (except where a fully catered function has been organized with Compass Group, our on-site caterers) or purchase from designated catering outlets within the Zoo grounds. Please restrict consumption to your reserved area. Persons walking around the Zoo drinking alcohol will be asked to leave, as will persons creating a nuisance to other visitors or animals and/or in an intoxicated condition. Barbeques There are no barbeque facilities available to the general public. Visitors are prohibited from bringing barbeques into the Zoo. Catering Visitors may choose from a range of public catering options provided by Compass Group including the Lakeside Bistro or takeaway kiosks. Compass Group can also customize a catering package to suit the specific needs of your group. External caterers are not allowed on the property to serve or sell food or drink. Contact or melbournezoofunctions@compass-group.com.au for catering options. Electricity Single-phase power outlets are available in the Zoo s undercover pavilions. All hirers wishing to use the electricity outlets must discuss their needs with Zoo management prior to the event. Entertainment Groups are welcome to bring entertainment into the Zoo grounds. Prior approval must be obtained from Zoo management for groups wishing to include entertainment as part of their event. Amusement rides may be set up on designated lawn areas, under certain conditions. All amusements must be weighted, not pegged into the turf. Mobile amusement companies operating in the Zoo must be accredited with the Association of Mobile Amusements of Victoria. All mobile amusement operators must visit the Zoo for a site inspection prior to the day of the function. A certificate of currency providing public liability cover for up to $10,000,000 must be provided to Zoo management by all amusement operators one week prior to the date of the function. Gifts Please consider the environment of the Zoo, possible dangers to the animals and the listed restrictions when choosing gifts for your function. See prohibited items. Ice Ice must not be disposed of on garden beds or lawn areas as it contains significant amounts of salt that is damaging to plants and grass. Please dispose of in a drain or outside the property. Liability Melbourne Zoo does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to client or visitor property left prior, during or after a visit or event. The client/visitor will be responsible for any damage caused by their guests or contractors to Zoo property, and will be charged for any repair or replacement as deemed necessary by Zoo management. Lost Property All goods and equipment brought in by the hirer must be removed from the Zoo grounds at the end of the visit. Any uncollected items will be held in lost property for a period of one month. Unclaimed items after one month will be disposed of at the discretion of Zoo management. Marquees Marquees are permitted on designated lawn areas on the condition that they are weighted, not pegged into the turf. All visitors wishing to set up marquees must discuss their requirements, and obtain approval from Zoo management prior to the date of the event. Contact the Zoo s preferred supplier Instant Shade on or com.au to hire a marquee. Visitors can also hire chairs or extra tables through Instant Shade. Media Under our regulations, media are not permitted on-site without prior permission from the Zoo. Our Media Relations Officer can be contacted on Noise Level Please refrain from the use of loud speakers and similar equipment unless through organised entertainment. Prohibited Items In the interests of animal and visitor safety, the following items are not allowed in the Zoo grounds: Domestic animals, however assistance dogs are accepted. Balloons, balls, barbeques, bikes, fireworks, frisbees, jumping castles, PA systems, party poppers, roller blades, scooters, skateboards, toy guns, water pistols, whistles and sporting equipment of any kind. Signs Groups may not erect or place signs in the outdoor venues without prior approval from Zoo management. Storage It is the responsibility of the hirer to bring in any special equipment and/or goods on the day of the function, and to remove from the premises at the conclusion. Vehicle Access & Deliveries Vehicle access to deliver &/or pick up equipment/food etc. for functions is available between 8.30am and 9.00am for delivery; 4.30pm and 5.00pm for pick up. This must be pre arranged before the day. Vehicles entering the Zoo MUST NOT be parked within the Zoo grounds and MUST EXIT the grounds & re-enter at the designated times. Please note that there are no storage facilities available. The speed limit within the Zoo is 8km/hr.
