2 The purpose of this tutorial is to Explain the admission and graduation requirements for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree program at TRU Assist students in selecting appropriate courses and making a personalized education plan

4 Admission Requirements BC Grade 12, or equivalent - BC Adult Graduation Diploma - Mature Student Status (19+ years of age and out of school for a minimum of two years out of school) English requirement: 73% on combined English 12 and Government Exam (within the last 5 years) or Level 5 on the essay section of the LPI and 70% average in Part 1 (within last 2 years) or completion of TRU ENGL 0600 with C+ or completion of English as a Second or Additional Language courses ESAL 0570 & ESAL 0580 with C+
5 How to Apply Apply anytime after October 1st Application can be made three different ways: Students pay $27.03 application fee Submit all official transcripts 1. Apply online 2. Mail 3. In-person: Admissions/Registration Old Main Building Room 1155 Kamloops, BC Complete application package and submit to Office of the Registrar
6 Admission Process Once your application has been received and processed by the Admissions Office all qualified applicants will be sent a conditional letter of acceptance
7 Registration for courses In May.students admitted to the BFA program will be mailed a letter directing them to online resources which help prepare for online registration through mytru In June..Registration starts for students in the BFA degree and diploma in June. Each student is given a specific registration date and time to enrol for courses..students need to enrol into both their fall and winter semester courses in June.
8 Tuition Deposit Prior to enrolling in any courses, students must first pay a $300 tuition deposit This fee is a down-payment towards tuition fees Once admitted and assigned a registration date, students access their mytru account to pay this deposit The deposit can also be paid in person at the campus cashier or by sending a cheque directly to TRU Campus Cashier.include your student number! Balance of Fall fees are due Friday before class begins Winter semester fees are due last day of Fall semester classes
9 Tuition fees, textbook and supplies One 3 credit course will cost $360 plus additional fees, or $510 One full semester of 5 courses, or 15 credits will cost approximately $2350 Textbooks and supplies vary with each course; budget approximately $150 per course or $1500 per year
10 BFA Total Credit Requirement A minimum of 120 credits with a minimum grade point average (GPA) 2.0 A minimum of 48 credits must be upper level, including: 9 credits at the 3000/ 4000 level in History and Theory of Art, and 39 credits at the 3000/ 4000 level in VISA Studio Art courses See this link to view BFA student exhibition: html
