12 WACE Course Report Issued to those students who sit the WACE Examination in that course. School grades School marks and moderated school marks Raw WACE examination marks and standardised WACE examination marks State-wide distribution of WACE course scores

13 SCSA Graduation Requirements Complete at least 20 (or equivalent) SCSA course units Up to 10 unit equivalents may be comprised of endorsed programs (eg. Workplace Learning - Employability Skills) and/or VET programs ("VET credit transfer") Achieve an average of C grade or better across best 16 course units of which at least 8 must be completed in Year 12 (or equivalent) Achieve SCSA English language competence Meet the English language competence standard as defined by work samples; related to the standard required to achieve a C grade or better in Stage 1 English

14 SCSA Graduation Requirements NOTE: Year 12 students who are enrolled in a pair of course units at Stage 2 or Stage 3 must sit the external examination for that course (unless exempt). Students, who do not make a genuine attempt in the examination for a course, will not have the units in that course contribute to the C grade average.

16 Semester Two Examinations Times Exam times differ to Semester One: 9.20 am 2.00 pm (as per the WACE Exams)

17 WACE Examinations Personalised 2015 WACE Written Examination timetables sent out to the College Monday 7 th September, will be distributed to students during Week 8 of Term WACE Practical Examinations Monday 28 th September to Friday 2 nd October (for students studying Physical Education Studies 3A/3B). Please Note: date and location depends on sport eg. Mc Gillivray Oval, Mt Claremont. Wednesday 21 st October (for students studying German). WACE Written Examinations Monday 2 nd November to Friday 20 th November

18 WACE Examination Procedures Be very familiar with examination timetable: which exam, when, where (no allowance for missing an exam through misreading timetable). Be at examination venue at least 30 minutes before start of examination (will not be admitted if more than 30 minutes late). Know what can and cannot take into examination venue, and what special course requirements apply (as per 2015 Year 12 Information Handbook SCASA website). eg. clear water bottle with no label; no mobile phones; no calculator cases or instruction booklets; know which calculators are allowed Take signed Personalised Examination Timetable to exam venue. Be familiar with Examination Rules (as per Information Handbook). Sickness and Misadventure Application Form

19 WACE Examinations Courses sitting exam is compulsory if enrolled in Stage 2 or Stage 3 units for a particular course It is important that a genuine attempt on the exam is made, otherwise grades for course units concerned will NOT be counted towards meeting Graduation (WACE) requirements. Expectation for Emmanuel Catholic Students that you are required to remain for the whole of the examination (applies to ALL exams); if you finish early CHECK ANSWERS.

20 Leading up to School and WACE Examinations Plan your revision (3.5 + hrs per night of homework/study); consider early morning study and more effective ways of studying If you haven t yet got your revision underway, START TONIGHT Minimise distractions eg: Facebook, mobile phone Work through revision books, past exam papers; attend tutorials; REFINE EXAM TECHNIQUE If disappointed by Semester One Exam results, don t give up.. good results on exams coming up can have a BIG impact

27 Key Dates For University Applications Monday 10 August Applications open with TISC Application is not complete until fee is paid - $27 Wednesday 30 th September Applications incur a late fee after this date - $138 All dates listed in 2016 TISC guide Information is also available on TISC website Notre Dame: Applications due 30 September.

28 University Foundation Programs Application can be made directly to the University or through TISC. Please check the TISC guide.

29 University Scholarships Scholarships are moving away from schools, some come through the College and students are notified of these. Please check university websites for information on relevant scholarships
