7 Our Asset Management Plan 2011, Provincial Gov t releases Building Together, Guide for Municipal Asset Management Plans Required for loans, grants typically smaller municipalities Markham fully funding our 25 year Lifecycle Program since , as part of Municipal Funding Agreement renewal for the Federal Gas Tax Funds, all municipalities now required to have an AMP by December 2016 Ensures the City s investments are strategic and timely to reduce future repair and rehabilitation costs to core services

10 Asset Management Strategy Asphalt Rehabilitation Surface condition testing conducted bi-annual basis Candidates selected based on condition rating but verified through field analysis Core sampling taken by consulting engineers and return to the City with 2 street specific strategies, either FDR or Shave and Pave dependant on longevity provided for the selected strategy High level dollar estimate is verified against the budget

12 Focus on Full Depth Reclamation Since 2002 we recognize the treatment as more cost effective and environmentally friendly but further benefits realized The average amount of FDR with Foamed Asphalt Stabilization is approximately 82,500 m² (98,700 yd²) since 2002 Reclaiming full depth removed all deficiencies providing a structurally enhanced and smooth surface condition 80% of our road rehabilitation program has been Recycling in the past five years
