7 Overview This section introduces the SPECTRUM documentation for the CallManager call-processing software manufactured by Cisco. In this section: Device Support Firmware Information Device Support SPECTRUM management module SM-CIS1019 currently lets you model the Application [Page 10] on existing models of devices running software. is the softwarebased call-processing component of the Cisco IP telephony solution, part of Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data). The software extends enterprise telephony features and functions to packet telephony network devices such as IP phones, media processing devices, voice-over-ip (VoIP) gateways, and multimedia applications. The following Cisco devices are supported: Cisco Media Convergence (MCS) 7800 Series (Windows 2000) - MCS MCS MCS Firmware Information This management module was certified against version 3.1 of Cisco CallManager. 8 Events and Alarms This section describes any device-specific events and alarms supported by the management module. Trap Support Note: Alarms are asserted on the device running Cisco CallManager. SPECTRUM management module SM-CIS1019 currently supports the following traps. Each trap in Table 1 is mapped to a SPECTRUM event. This trap will generate an orange alarm. ccmphonefailed Indicates that at least one phone has attempted to register or communicate with the CallManager and failed within the time interval specified in Alarm Interval (sec) [Page 12]. This trap will generate a yellow alarm. Page 8

9 ccmphonestatusupdate Indicates that at least one phone has either successfully registered or lost contact with the CallManager. ccmgatewayfailed Indicates that at least one gateway has attempted to register or communicate with the CallManager and failed. This trap will generate an orange alarm. ccmmediaresourcelistexhausted Indicates that the CallManager has run out of a certain specified type of resource. ccmroutelistexhausted Indicates that the CallManager could not find an available route in the indicated route list. ccmgatewaylayer2change Sent when the D-Channel/Layer 2 of an interface in a skinny gateway that has registered with the CallManager changes state. 10 Application This section describes the CallManager application. The CallManager application (CiscoCCMApp) icon and its associated views are accessible from the Application View of the server model that CCM is installed on. From the Icon Subviews menu for the CiscoCCMApp icon, select one of the following options. Gateway Information This table contains a list of all gateway devices which have registered with the local CallManager system at least once. Gateway Trunk Information This table contains a list of all gateway trunks in a CCN system. Page 10

11 Alarm Configuration Information Note: To modify Alarm Configuration Information, you must have a community name with read/write access. This view lets you enable alarms for the and contains the following information: Enable Alarms Phone Status Update Times Phone Failed Times Enable Alarms This section of the Alarm Configuration Information view contains the following information. Enable Call Manager Alarms Allows the generation of alarms in response to general failures. Setting this to true will allow the CCM agent to generate the following alarms: ccmcallmanagerfailed [Page 8] ccmmediaresourcelistexhausted [Page 9] ccmroutelistexhausted [Page 9] The default value is false. Enable Gateway Alarms Allows the generation of alarms in response to Gateway general failures that the CallManager is aware of. Setting this to true will allow the CCM agent to generate the following alarms: ccmgatewayfailed [Page 9] ccmgatewaylayer2change [Page 9] notifications The default value is false. Phone Status Update Times This section of the Alarm Configuration Information view contains the following information. Page 11

12 Alarm Interval (sec) The minimum interval between sending of the ccmphonestatusupdate [Page 9] notification in seconds. This notification is only sent when there is at least one entry in the ccmphonestatusupdatetable and the notification has not been sent for the last ccmphonestatusupdatealarminterv defined in this object. A value of 0 indicates that the alarm notification is disabled. The default value is 0 seconds. Store Period (sec) The time duration for storing the phone status update information in seconds. This information is stored in the ccmphonestatusupdatetable object. This value should ideally be set to a higher value than Alarm Interval (sec). The default value is 0 seconds. Phone Failed Times This section of the Alarm Configuration Information view contains the following information. Alarm Interval (sec) The minimum interval between sending of the ccmphonefailed [Page 8] notification in seconds. This notification is only sent when there is at least one entry in the ccmphonefailedtable and the notification has not been sent for the last Alarm Interval (sec) defined in this field. A value of 0 indicates that the alarm notification is disabled. The default value is 0 seconds. Store Period (sec) The time duration for storing the phone failure information in seconds. This information is stored in the ccmphonefailedtable. This value should ideally be set to a higher value than Alarm Interval (sec). The default value is 0 seconds. Page 12

13 Administration Administration, the web-based CCM administration application suite, can be launched from the device model that CCM is installed on. Procedure Note: See the 3.1 documentation for a list of supported web browsers and requirements. If is installed on a device modeled in SPECTRUM, the Web Administration menu option will be available by right clicking on the device icon of the server model in the Topology view and choosing Cisco Call Manager > Web Administration. Note: For Host_Device and Host_Compaq model types associated with a CiscoCCMApp application, the default Web Admin URL is CCMAdmin (where <0x1027f> is the Network_Address attribute). You can use the Global Attribute Editor in Search Manager to change this. See the Global Attribute Editor section of the Search Manager User Guide (2383) for more information. Page 13
