1 Training and Assessment Distance Program P/L RTO: T/as TAA404 CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING AND Payment Plans Available ASSESSMENT DISTANCE PROGRAM 6 month Program The TAA404 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course is designed both people who are working as workplace trainers and assessors and also those who plan to move into the training and assessing field. Our Student Handbook is available on our website This course is open to all people over 18 years of age and there are no pre-requisites. 2 The Distance Program Can t get to regular classes because you re in a remote location or have heavy work or other commitments? This option is designed for you! It is a fully supported program in which one of our Tutors will guide you step by step through the process of achieving competence in the TAA404 Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification. It runs over a 6 months, which can be accelerated depending on your own commitments. As with the classroom based program, it involves preparation and presentation of lessons and design and implementation of a formal assessment in a workplace. If you live within reach of one of our regular class locations you can present your lessons there, with one of our regular groups. Otherwise you can present them in a workplace. Upon enrolling as a distance learning student, you will receive the Distance Learning Package, at no extra charge, which includes: Step by Step Training Manual Pearson s Textbooks Assignment Templates in Word On completion of the first assignment you it (or mail hard copy if necessary) to your Tutor who will assess it and provide feedback. This process proceeds through each of the assignments. Your Tutor is available for guidance and support via . You need to prepare and deliver 3 training sessions plus a briefing session on a workplace assessment that you prepare and conduct. You have 6 months to submit all assignments. The course leads you through the steps of preparing and presenting 3 Lesson Plans. Options for presenting your Lessons under the Distance Learning mode include: 1. Attend a regular class and present your lessons there. 2. Present your Lesson to a group of students and arrange for someone to make a video or DVD of your lesson. It needs to clearly show the participants as well as you the student trainer. Mail it to us, with details of date, location, participants plus group evaluation sheets provided in your SCT Training Manual. 3. As in 2. except under observation of a qualified workplace assessor. 3 The new TAA404 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment The new TAA404 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course replaced the former BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training course in November 05. It is the qualification for anyone wishing to commence or progress a career in Training and Assessment at work, in a College, Training Company, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or as a Training & Assessment contractor. This course takes you through a clear process of steps and practical exercises to understand and implement competency based training and assessment - the benchmark system today. The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course is a significant qualification. It involves dedication, time and guidance. In the program students will feel secure, confident and supported throughout their learning experience. Public Courses New courses commence frequently. We have flexible delivery methods to choose from; Classroom based with blended delivery, RPL/RCC and Bridging / Assessment methods. Corporate and Group Programs Evidence shows organisations save money by developing internal experts, decreasing a company s dependence on contractors and consultants and instead training current staff. Many people in the workplace involved in training were never formally trained. They have gradually moved into a position of training others by on the job experience. TAADEL301C Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills This unit specifies the competency required to conduct individual and group instruction and demonstration of work skills. 40 TAADES402B Design and develop learning programs This unit specifies the competency required to conceptualise, design, develop and evaluate learning programs to meet an identified need for a group of learners, using appropriate criteria. 40 TAADES401B Use Training Packages to meet client needs This unit specifies the competency required to use Training Packages and accredited courses as a tool to support industry, organisation or individual competency development needs. TAAASS401C Plan and organise assessment This unit specifies the competence required to plan and organise the assessment process in a competency-based assessment system TAAASS402C Assess competence This unit specifies the competence required to assess the competence of a candidate. 15 TAAASS403B Develop assessment tools This unit specifies the competence required to develop assessment tools. 30 TAAASS404B Participate in assessment validation This unit specifies the competence required to participate in an assessment validation process. TAAENV401B Work effectively in Vocational Education and Training This unit specifies the competency required to work effectively in the policy and operating environment of the vocational education and training sector. TAAENV402B Foster and promote an inclusive learning culture This unit specifies the competency required to foster and promote an environment which supports inclusive work practices and learning culture. TAAENV403B Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment This unit specifies the competency required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of learners and candidates. TAADEL404B Facilitate workbased learning This unit specifies the outcomes required to use work effectively as a learning process. 15 TAADEL403B Facilitate individual learning This unit specifies the competency required to facilitate individual learning through a one-on-one relationship between a learner and facilitator. 15 BSBLED401A Develop teams and individuals This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to determine individual and team development needs and facilitate the development of the workgroup. 5 Flexible Programs Distance Program Classroom based program Upgrade / Assessment programs Recognition of Prior Learning / Recognition of Current Competencies Classroom Based Blended Program The TAA404 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment classroom based blended program involves days of attendance in two separate blocks with self paced activities and projects. This is blended learning with integrated classroom learning supported by learning activities, assessment tasks and work-based practice between the workshop blocks. Class based programs are run regularly in, and Adelaide. Pre-requisites The TAA404 Certificate IV Training and Assessment is suitable for people who are new to training as well as those with extensive experience. Students must be over 18 years of age. This qualification requires good language, literacy and computing skills and access to a computer. Projects are undertaken as part of completing the qualification, and a workplace or practice environment is needed. Prices Distance Based Program The price for the Nationally Accredited Program of 14 units of competency is only $1,290 inclusive of all learning materials. You can enroll in individual blocks of Units and pay the applicable price for those. Payment plans available. Resources The student fee includes all Training Manuals, CD with Templates, plus mentoring and support from your Trainer while you undertake your self-paced assessment tasks. There are no hidden costs. Pathways Attainment of the TAA404 Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification is a requirement for gaining employment as a Trainer and Assessor within private and government Registered Training Organisations, and in a similar role within in organisations that are not RTOs. 6 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Bridging Program Holders of the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training with clear and current training experience, may be eligible to attend the Bridging / Assessment Program. Accepted applicants may gain the new qualification through individual assessment, classroom attendance, an evidence portfolio and other evidence gathering processes as individually necessary. Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current Competencies offered RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) and RCC (Recognition of Current Competencies Learning) is offered to all applicants. It is structured to be time and cost effective. We start with a mapping procedure to assess suitability. A qualified Trainer / Assessor will be available to design an individual evidence gathering process, guide you through the RPL process and to assist you with any questions. Competence in additional Units may be demonstrated by evidence gathering and / or undertaking formal work in class based or distance training. Call or for further information.
