In additin, students may request access t a CCG trainer fr supervisin and supprt during ur business perating hurs. Students will be prvided with a learning prgram t fllw fr self-paced learning between sessins. _ Curse duratin: This curse cnsists f apprximately 42 weeks f structured training. Students can begin their training at any time in cnsultatin with the Prgram Leader. Curse utline and delivery: The Certificate IV in Hrticulture is aimed at individuals respnsible fr all aspects f harvesting, cultivating and maintaining plants, whilst wrking independently r supervising thers. Tpics may include develping sil health and a plant nutritin prgram; sampling sils and interpreting results; and recruiting, selecting and inducting staff. T achieve this qualificatin 12 units are required t be successfully cmpleted including 1 cre and 11 elective units. What is Wrkplace Training: Wrkplace based training ffers the cnvenience f bringing training t yur dr and is a great way t learn new skills. CCG s apprach t training is a cmbinatin f thery, instructin and structured n-the-jb learning which allws handsn practical applicatin and practice f the thery. The mst significant benefits f wrkplace based training include: Minimal disruptin t wrk flw; Training is relevant t and tied in with existing r prpsed wrk tasks; Students are able t apply new skills in their jb rle as they prgress In wrkplace based prgrams, the training is the respnsibility f CCG, the student and the emplyer. A qualified and experienced wrkplace trainer is allcated t the student with training visits scheduled fr every 6-8 weeks, depending n yur prgram and are apprximately 1-5 hurs in duratin, hwever times may vary depending n the individual s needs. This training must be cnducted in an area away frm the learner s nrmal wrk area and may ccur ne-n-ne r in small grups. The student will als be required t cmplete tasks in their wn time and submit wrk t the trainer. Our wrkplace trainers integrate the learning requirements f the relevant qualificatin being studied with the learner s daily duties and tasks. The CCG trainer will use a variety f techniques t intrduce the learning tpics. These techniques might include: discussin, demnstratin, activities, rle plays and simulatins and are designed t establish the knwledge and skills that the learner will need t practice and develp befre assessment. 4 VET FEE-HELP Cmmunity Cllege Gippsland is an apprved VET prvider f the Australian Gvernment lan scheme called VET FEE- HELP. VET FEE-HELP is available t assist eligible students studying higher level vcatinal educatin and training (VET) qualificatins t pay their tuitin fees. Higher level VET qualificatins are at the diplma level and abve. Fr a trial perid, VET FEE-HELP will als be available fr a limited number f certificate IV qualificatins. VET FEE-HELP can be used t pay all r part f an eligible student s tuitin fees, but cannt be used fr additinal study csts such as accmmdatin r text bks. Fee Structures The Victrian Training Guarantee prvides an entitlement t a gvernment subsidised place in accredited vcatinal educatin and training fr all curses, subject t eligibility guidelines. Students wh are nt eligible fr gvernment subsidised training may chse t undertake Full Fee/Fee fr Service training. Full Fee r Fee fr Service tuitin relates t all students wh are nt eligible t attract a subsidised r funded training place thrugh any Gvernment Initiatives. If yu are nt eligible fr the Victrian Training Guarantee and d nt meet any ther funding criteria, then yu are still able t undertake yur qualificatin with CCG n a full fee paying basis. Fr an individual qutatin f fees payable, please cntact ur Custmer Service Team. Pre Training Review Prir t cmmencing yur training, a CCG representative will cnduct a Pre Training Review with yu. Yu will be required t cmplete an nline skills review (takes apprximately 30 minutes) and cmplete a dcument with a series f questins relating t general wrk and learning experiences. These prcesses prvide CCG with an indicatin as t yur literacy and numeracy levels and prvide an idea f the level f study that wuld be best fr yu. If there are areas identified where yu may need assistance r supprt, CCG has a range f Adult Literacy and Numeracy prgrams that culd be f interest and available t yu. Skills Recgnitin Skills recgnitin is a generic term that can be used t cver the ways in which an individual s skills, experience, knwledge and qualificatins can be frmally acknwledged. These may include: Recgnitin f Prir Learning (RPL) Credit Transfer (CT) Recgnitin f Prir Learning (RPL): Recgnitin f Prir Learning is a prcess where a persn with wrk experience r previus infrmal learning, can apply t have their skills and knwledge assessed, with the aim f getting a frmal qualificatin. If yu wish t apply fr RPL yu need t indicate this during this interview prcess. Credit Transfer (CT) and Natinal Recgnitin (NR): if yu have previusly cmpleted an accredited curse with units that are identified as equivalent t the units in the curse yu are interested in yu may be able t apply fr Credit Transfer. CCG recgnises the AQF qualificatins and statements f attainment issued t students by ther Registered Training Organisatin's (RTO s) within Australia. The CCG Representative will infrm yu f what dcumentatin yu need t prvide if yu wish t apply. Page 4

5 COURSE FEES Curse fees are calculated per calendar year, frm January t December. They are frmulated dependent n the number f units and hurs yu are enrlling in and in accrdance with yur eligibility status. Additinal fees may be charged fr materials and amenities relating t yur study. Yu will be prvided with a Statement f Fees qute fr yur prpsed training prir t enrlment. Payment Plans are available fr yu if yu require supprt t enrl int yur curse. This can be set up at the time f enrlment. VET FEE HELP is als available fr Diplma level curses. Students have tw payment ptins, dependant n the ttal curse fee that must be cmpleted befre the curse cmmences t cnfirm their enrlment. Students must pay in full (ttal fee cst may incur invice arrangement) r enter int the Payment Plan Direct Debit ptin, (excluding VET FEE-Help applicants) befre any training can cmmence. Optin 1 - Payment in full: Students wh wish t pay their fees in full and are enrlling int a curse where the ttal curse fees are under $ must pay in full befre the curse cmmences t cnfirm their enrlment. Students wh wish t pay fr the curse in full and are enrlling int curse where the ttal curse fees are ver $ will be required t pay $ upn enrlment and will be inviced the remaining fees prgressively acrss the duratin f the training delivered. Invicing fr the remaining fees will ccur at ne third and tw thirds f the curse duratin and at n mre than $ in any ne invice. Optin 2 - Direct Debit: Students must enter int the Payment Plan ptin as a Direct Debit agreement which requires a depsit f 10% f all curse fees and materials. The Direct Debit incurs a $20.00 administratin fee n tp f the curse fee (nt applicable fr Pre Accredited curses, Shrt Curses r VETiS curses). Direct Debit fr all curses attracts a minimum depsit f 10% f the curse fee fr the units selected fr the calendar year and requires a minimum repayment f $30.00 per frtnight. All fees are required t be paid in full befre cmpletin f the curse and certificates will nt be issued until fees have been entirely paid. Fee Refunds If yu withdraw frm yur curse by written ntice within 4 weeks f the curse cmmencement date (using the Curse Withdrawal frm) yu will receive a refund n yur tuitin fee, minus a $50.00 administratin fee. A refund f any materials purchased frm CCG will be dependent n the cnditin f the unused materials and is determined by the Prgram Leader f the curse. The frm must be submitted t the Custmer Service Officer r Prgram Leader at any CCG campus lcatin. Yu are nt entitled t any refund if yu withdraw after the fur week perid. If a curse is cancelled by CCG at any time during the perid f a persn s enrlment, CCG will refund the pr-rata prtin f the tuitin fees, amenity fees, and fees fr materials that have nt been used prir t the date f cancellatin. Fr Students enrlled in Diplma curses under VET FEE-HELP, the refunds are subject t VET FEE-HELP requirements and require separate infrmatin. This will be prvided t yu n request. Page 5

6 Training and Assessment Thrughut yur study yu will cmplete assessments fr each unit f cmpetence against the training yu have received. Yu will receive a Student Assessment Guide that utlines the tasks fr each unit f cmpetence that yu will be assessed against. Yu are expected t attempt each assessment task utlined in the Student Assessment Guide. CCG will retain yur riginal wrk submitted. Once the tasks have been attempted yu will receive feedback frm yur Trainer and Assessr n the utcmes achieved. Student Transitin int New Qualificatins Accredited curses and qualificatins are cntinually being updated and imprved t meet current industry standards. If yu are enrlled in a curse r qualificatin that is superseded during the time f yur enrlment yu may be required t transitin int the new qualificatin. This transitin will be discussed with students n an individual basis. Student access t recrds Access t yur student recrds is available and can be btained by request with yur Teacher/Trainer r Prgram Leader. Yu will need t cmplete and submit the frm 602-1A Student access t recrds which is available n the website under the Frms and Guides link r in hard cpy frm Custmer Service. Issuing f Results All students are issued with a Statement f Results, Statement f Attainment r Certificatin upn cmpletin f their study. CCG hlds a Graduatin Ceremny fr all graduates at the beginning f each year. If required, students can purchase a replacement Certificate r Statement f Attainment fr a fee f $20.00 r request a cpy f the riginal fr a fee f $ Student Feedback Surveys During yur curse yu will be asked t cmplete an nline student survey. It takes abut 10 minutes and gives yu the pprtunity t tell CCG abut yur learning experience. Yu may als be cntacted by the Natinal Centre fr Vcatinal Educatin and Research t participate in the Natinal Student Outcmes Survey.
