3 Speakers Johnny C. Taylor Jr., J.D., SPHR President & CEO, RushmoreDrive.com Immediate Past National Chairman, SHRM Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. travels the world extensively as a business leadership speaker and human resource thought leader and is frequently sought out by national and international media outlets such as The Today Show, CNBC, Reuters,HR Magazine, CBS Evening News, Time, Fortune, and The Wall Street Journal for his opinion and comments regarding complex human resource and leadership issues facing employers. Mr. Taylor serves as the President & CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), the only national organization to provide merit scholarships, programmatic and capacity building support to our country s 47 Public Historically Black Colleges and Universities, 6 Historically Black Law Schools and their 235,000 students. With approximately 80% of HBCU students attending TMCF Member Institutions, TMCF s work is critical to the country s pipeline of talented Black college graduates. Prior to assuming the presidency of TMCF, Mr. Taylor worked as a senior executive for IAC/InterActiveCorp first as its Senior Vice President of Human Resources and then as the President & CEO of one of IAC s operating subsidiaries, RushmoreDrive.com. Before joining IAC, Mr. Taylor was a partner in the McGuireWoods law firm and president of that firm s consulting business; General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Compass Group USA; and he held several senior human resources and legal executive roles with Viacom subsidiaries, Blockbuster Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. Mr. Taylor, who currently serves on the corporate board of Gallup, a leader in organizational consulting and public opinion research, also volunteers his time to several not-for-profit boards, including serving as: Former Chairman of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), one of the world s largest professional associations with 250,000 members in over 100 countries; and Member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of the USA, the country s largest social service agency. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Taylor received his Bachelor of Science in Communication, with general honors, from the University of Miami; Master of Arts in Mass Communication, with honors, from Drake University; and Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from the Drake University Law School, where he served as Research Editor of the Drake Law Review and argued on the National Moot Court Team. He is a member of the Florida, Illinois and Washington, D.C. bars, and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. He has also co-authored, with Gary Stern, the book entitled The Trouble with HR: An Insider s Guide to Finding and Keeping the Best People. 3 P a g e

4 Mia Mottley first served Barbadian politics as early as Between 1991 and 1994 she was one of two Opposition Senators in the Upper House where she was Shadow Minister of Culture and Community Development. In September 1994, Mottley became one of the youngest Barbadians ever to be assigned a ministerial portfolio. At age 29, she was appointed to the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Culture. During her tenure she co-authored the White Paper on Education titled "Each Child Matters" that draws the link between better education and job fulfillment. Mottley was appointed Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs in August 2001 and was the first female (in Barbados) to hold this position. She is also the youngest ever Queen's Council in Barbados. In addition to being a Member of the Privy Council of Barbados, she was Leader of the House and a member of the National Security Council and the Barbados Defense Board. She is also credited with being the visionary behind the Education Sector Enhancement Programme, popularly known as Edutech, which aims to increase the number of young people contributing to the island s sustainable social and economic development. This revolutionary program involves the widespread use of information and communication technologies to assist in improving the quality of the teaching/learning process. Mottley served as Barbados' second female Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Social Council of Barbados and the Deputy Chairman of Barbados' Economic Council. Rosalind Jackson, ACIS, CCP, CMC is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ACIS) in the UK and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management in the USA. Ros completed Harvard Business School s Human Resource Strategic Management programme in June Ros, from , provided the strategic Human Capital leadership for Ernst & Young in Barbados and then Ernst & Young Caribbean. In this capacity, she led the implementation of a number of human resource development and process improvement initiatives, which have provided much of the foundation for sustainable growth. As Partner responsible for Ernst & Young Human Capital group, she established the firms Executive Search Service in Barbados in Ros has worked extensively with local and offshore clients from several industries on various aspects of their HR development including: HR audits, HR operational improvement, HR strategic planning, performance management systems, job evaluations, compensation and management training. 4 P a g e
