Course Prerequisites MM232. Audit available Course Description Includes how to design, create, and display high- quality, interactive 3D graphics and animations using industry standard 3D modeling tools. Explores and tests delivery options, limitations, and quality issues. Created content will be developed in order to captivate and engage Web audiences, as well as other end- users in an enhanced experience for games and other forms entertainment, e- commerce, business, news, marketing, advertising, education, and distance learning. Course Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will develop multiple interactive 3D projects, in order to increase their skills in designing, creating and displaying high- quality, interactive 3D graphics and animations delivered via the World Wide Web. Upon successful completion students should be able to: Plan, design, and create professional quality interactive 3D projects Create a product that enables the user to change 3D elements, environments, and objects. Evaluate digital 3D projects; identify items for improvement, and implement changes.

2 Required Materials Portable storage device; minimum 8GB (more recommended) Sketching materials Course Resources The course website found at will house much of the content needed for this course. This includes, but is not limited to: project descriptions, schedules, resource files, tutorials, readings, videos etc. I will also be posting any announcements or extra resources you may need on this site as well as keeping the calendar updated with the most recent due dates. Refer to the website often if you have any questions. Major Assignments and Due Dates Project 1: Skrollr interactive Website Project 2: Inka3D Website and Print Campaign Project 3: Augmented Reality Project DUE: January 27, 2015 DUE: February 10, 2015 DUE: March 17, 2015 Course Grading Criteria Students will be responsible for 3 major projects for points as well as turning in progress reports documenting their performance. Evaluation also includes attendance, completion of a written response, and a group evaluation. All students are expected to submit their work on time, understanding that late work will receive a penalty. Approximate Grading Weights: (percentage of final grade) Project 1: 20% Project 2: 20% Project 3: 25% Progress Reports: 20% Group Evaluation: 5% Written Response: 5% Attendance: 5% Grading Scale by Percentage: % = A 80 89% = B 70 79% = C 60 69% = D < 59% = F (NP)

3 For all courses at PCC, you as the student are responsible for choosing your preferred grading option. The default option is a letter grade A- F if you don t specify otherwise. For this course, you can elect to take it with the Pass/No Pass or P / NP grade option. To receive a passing grade, you must attain the equivalent of 70% or better of the total points. P and NP grades do not affect your grade point average, however, P grades do give you credit for the class. For, Fall, Winter and Spring quarters, you must make your choice of grading option by the 8 th week of class. PCC Grading Guidelines can be found online at: practices/academicstandardsandpractices- GradingGuidelines.html Late Policy: Projects will be accepted after their due date up until the last day of class, but will be reduced by 10% of the total value of the assignment every week they are late. The deadline for progress reports will be strictly followed. Revised Work: Projects 1 and 2 can be revised and turned in up until the next- to- last- week of the course. You can make up and receive full points on revised assignments if the original was turned in on time. Progress reports cannot be revised. Add/Drop Deadlines for the course: To drop the course with a full refund you must do so by Saturday January 10, 2015 by 10:00 PM. You can only drop until the drop deadline - after that it's called withdrawing, and it has different consequences. You have to pay for the class, and it will show up as a W on your transcript. W grades do not affect your GPA (see grading guidelines) but they can affect your academic standing. The withdraw deadline for the quarter is Saturday February 28, More information can be found online at: Attendance Policy Students are expected to attend every class. This is higher education and this expectation is common. However, life happens and I understand this. Students are allowed one excused absence that will be dropped from their final grade. An excused absence is one in which I am notified before the absence or within 48 hours of the missed class. Every other absence will not be excused and will negatively affect your final grade. If a progress report is missed during an absence I will accept your work either electronically or during a scheduled office hour. If you miss a progress report you

4 must contact me to schedule a time to go over it before the next class. Progress reports will not be accepted more than a week late. General Classroom & Computer Lab Policies This course will require sufficient amount of lab time working and creating. This requires some basic lab and classroom etiquette: Cell phones are permitted. Just keep them on silent and take any necessary calls outside. Computer labs are open to currently enrolled PCC students only. Children are not allowed in classrooms or the computer lab. Please use PCC childcare if available. The policy on PCC childcare can be found at: rights/documents/children.pdf Do not bring food or drinks into the computer lab. Software may not be brought into the labs, copied, or loaded onto the computers. Software installed on lab computers may not be copied. Note the emergency exit instructions near the doors of the classroom and labs. In case of a fire alarm, you should exit the classroom and building in an orderly manner. In case of a lockdown alert, you should find a safe place to hide, preferably in a room that locks, until the alarm has ended. Notice of cancellation of classes will be announced on local radio and television channels. This includes snow and/or other weather or emergency situations. Also the fastest way is by going to PCC s home page at You may also call the main PCC Reception number at Student Web Server (SWS) PCC has established the Student Web Server to allow students to publish and test Web pages and other files on a live Web server. You will upload much of your completed work to the Student Web Server in this course. If you have your own web domain and would prefer to upload your work there for portfolio purposes, this is acceptable. Please provide me with all hyperlinks ahead of time to ensure that your site works. More information on SWS to follow with projects.
