Th program, locatd in Foly Hall, consists of studnts, ag 18-22, who ar bing providd a spcial ducation by th Sacramnto County Offic of Education and by th Sacramnto City Unifid School District. Th program utilizs voluntrs and studnt intrns from across campus. Rquirmnts Minor Amrican Sign Languag/Daf Studis Units rquird: 23 Amrican Sign Languag/Daf Studis taks an intrdisciplinary approach to th study of daf and hard-of-haring popl in Amrican and world socity. Th program promots th undrstanding of daf popl as a linguistic and cultural group and ncourags studnts to analyz xisting strotyps and policis rlating to daf and hardof-haring popl in ordr to work both within thir own communitis and othrs in affcting chang for th bttrmnt of th daf and hard-of-haring community.
