3 AREA INFORMATION About The Area Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) has been named one of America s 50 Best Hospitals for 2013 by HealthGrades and is the only hospital in Georgia named to the list. According to a 2015 study by CareChex, NGMC is Georgia s #1 hospital and #2 in the Nation for overall hospital, medical and surgical care. University of North Georgia Gainesville s new five-story, 130,000-square-foot academic building is located on a 144-acre site and houses the college s School of Humanities and Fine Arts and the School of Business, Education, Health and Wellness.
