Our research has told us that benefit changes and cuts are a key concern for many voluntary and community organisations' service users. We know that you may have had to make changes to meet these needs, and may be struggling. We'd like to understand the situation so we can get a true picture of the impact on the sector. We would be really grateful if you could complete this quick survey CAS Social Enterprise Network - Thurs 26 March This is an exciting new network that aims to promote, support and foster social enterprise activities in Southwark and surrounding boroughs. Each meeting has exciting speakers, a chance to show case what YOU do and plenty of discussion and networking opportunities. On Thursday 26 March, Bob Thust, Director of Community Business Programmes at the Power to Change will tell us about the programme and funding available. The first Social Enterprise Network newsletter is available and there have been plenty of funding opportunities announced recently. Changes to Stamp Prices The price of stamps is changing from the 30 March it is worth being aware of how this might affect your costs. 4 Voluntary Groups, Workfare and Benefits Sanctions 19 March This meeting is organised by KVV, Greater London Volunteering and the London Council for Voluntary Services. It will provide an opportunity to spread information about the Help to Work Programme and the ways in which it is being rolled out by the DWP, primes and their subcontractors (including testimony from claimants who have been affected). This has come about as a result of action taken by the Consortium of Older People s Services in Southwark (COPSINS), which is made up of voluntary organisations.read more about this here New rights for those with learning disabilities have your say Norman Lamb, Minister for Care and Support, has launched a consultation on strengthening rights for those with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. We would recommend that you make your service users aware of this, and consider responding to it on behalf of your organisation.
