Defining Assessment of Expected Student Learning Outcomes Identify appropriate assessment methodologies for the program level student learning outcomes, including summative assessments where appropriate. 1.) 4 IV. Assessing Student Learning Outcomes Have the expected student learning outcomes for all courses or other experiences required in the program (sections II and III) been assessed? If all relevant courses and/or other experiences have been assessed, summarize the assessment data. SLO #1 was assessed during the Fall and in the Spring semesters. The data indicates: Fall 2009 Placement Test/Student Registration: 47/95 of the military students were able to register for classes after taking the placement test. Spring 2010 Placement Test/Student Registration 80/99 of the military students were able to register for classes after taking the placement test. **NOTE: The increase of enrollment was due to registration for Summer and Fall terms. In addition, there were more classes offered at the NAS center during the Summer term. Fall 2010 Placement Test/Student Registration: 51/65 of the military students were able to register for classes after taking the placement test. Spring 2011 Placement Test/Student Registration 40/65 of the military students were able to register for classes after taking the placement test. Voluntary Education Military Program Page 4 of 6

5 V. Analyzing the Results of Assessment Have the assessment results for all courses and/or other experiences required in the program (sections II and III) been analyzed? If so, summarize those analyses. In other words, what does the relevant SLO assessment data tell you about student learning in this program Data SLO #1 47% accuracy is an improvement over the past registration periods. The progress is based on that more classes are offered at the NAS site and the placement test schedule includes additional terminals and availability. In addition, 73% of the courses are nine weeks in length versus the traditional eighteen weeks Data SLO #1 3% accuracy is an improvement over the last academic registration period. The progress is based on those classes offered at the NAS site on a regular series. In addition, 67% of the courses are nine weeks in length versus the traditional eighteen weeks. Planning/implementing changes to pedagogy, facilities, etc. to improve learning Using the assessment results from sections IV and V, have changes to pedagogy, facilities, etc. been planned and implemented to improve learning in the program? Explain how the assessment results were used to plan and make changes to improve learning; and describe the changes implemented.
