1 SOLICITATION NO C005 DULLES TOLL ROAD ADMINISTRATION BUILDING HOST COMPUTER REPLACEMENT (NON-PROPRIETARY) QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES Question No. 1 Please provide the hardware specifications for the new servers (Quest Net Vault Lite Speed for SQL Server). Please include information regarding total data, back-up type, retention. The hardware specifications for the servers have been provided in Attachment 3. The licensing for NetVault is not based on total data backed up or retention. Please provide pricing for two (2) licenses of NetVault LiteSpeed for SQL Server, version 7.1 with per server licensing. Question No. 2 Do the forty (40) products refer to forty (40) IP s (GIFI Monitoring Server)? How many years of software maintenance are required? The Authority s assumption is that this question refers to the Symantec Endpoint Protection or GFI Monitoring Servicer software. The quantity of forty (40) refers to the forty (40) licenses of the software. Refer to questions 3, 13 and 14 for the number of years of software maintenance required. Question No. 3 Do you want two (2) years of Smartnet support for the Cisco Switch, Router and Fire wall? See response to questions 13 and 14. Question No. 4 Question No. 5 How many total racks are required? Can server, storage and networking equipment be combined on the same rack? The Authority does not plan to purchase racks as a part of this procurement. The Authority and the Proprietary Contractor will determine the installation of equipment on existing racks. HP Insight Management is now known as HP Service Pack for Proliant and is a free download. There is also Insight Control, which include infrastructure management and is a chargeable item and includes ilo Advanced Pack. Which one is required? Page 1

2 Please provide (1) HP System Insight Management (free download from HP, (2) the quantity of ilo Advanced packed is specified in the RFP. Question No. 6 Question No. 7 Question No. 8 There are five (5) racks illustrated in the Toll System Related Devices diagram. Is the equipment in these racks going to be replaced by the new Host Computer hardware? Are the existing racks being replaced by new racks that contain the new hardware? The existing racks shall be re-used for the new equipment. During the migration phase, the existing hardware shall be removed from the racks and placed adjacent while the new hardware is installed in the racks. Can the new hardware be integrated into the new equipment racks with PDU s? Will the new equipment reside in the data center while the migration is taking place? Yes. The new equipment will reside in the data center while the migration is taking place. Proposed new hardware that can be used with racks with PDU s would require review, coordination and acceptance by the Authority and the Proprietary Contractor. This may be done prior to ordering when verifying the current equipment/software needed for the system. Can the Authority provide the specifications for the current UPS? Is the existing UPS being replaced? The UPS is located in the basement mechanical/electrical room and is call UPS C. UPS C is a Ferrups Model 18 kva, input 240VAC 1-phase and output 120/240 VAC, 1 phase. There are no plans to replace the UPS. Question No. 9 Question No. 10 Can the self-performance requirements in Section VII-31 be reduced since there is a 0% LDBE requirement? See Amendment No which reduced the self-performance requirement to Twenty-Five Percent (25%). Please confirm that prior to procuring the equipment and software that the Non-Proprietary Contractor will verify that the equipment/software is the latest available equivalent to the specified equipment/software if the specified equipment/software has been superseded. Yes. Prior to ordering, the Non-Proprietary Contractor shall verify the current equipment/software needed for the system with the Proprietary Contractor and shall submit a bill of materials to the Authority for review and approval. 3 Question No. 11 Question No. 12 Question No. 13 Question No. 14 Please provide separate hardware quantities for the Production and Disaster Recovery site system to be delivered by the Non-Proprietary Contractor. The Specifications assume that the Disaster Recovery system hardware and software configuration is a mirror of the primary system. Prior to ordering the Non-Proprietary Contractor shall verify the current equipment/software needed for the Disaster Recovery System with the Proprietary Contractor and shall submit a bill of materials to the Authority for review and approval. Is there any additional networking equipment required for the Disaster Recovery site that will be provided by the Non-Proprietary Contractor? No additional networking equipment shall be provided by the Non-Proprietary Contractor for the Disaster Recovery site at this time. Please confirm if the attachment outlines the warranty/support levels durations for all equipment requested. Coverage durations vary between the hardware and 1.7 Warranty A.1 which specified two (2) years from delivery acceptance by the Authority. The warranty as specified in 1.7 Warranty shall apply unless otherwise superseded by specific hardware and software warranty requirements as detailed in Division 11. What level of services and response time, number of years of warranty coverage/services is required for the following items: a. 4 The Non-Proprietary Contractor shall purchase manufacturer warranty or support agreements for two (2) years for the following equipment: S200 Symmetricom Sync Server Symantec Endpoint Protection Quest Net Vault LiteSpeed for SQL Server GFI Monitoring Service A base warranty or agreement with manufacturer renewals as needed to reach two (2) years is acceptable. The Non-Proprietary Contractor shall provide Cisco equipment with standard manufacturer warranty. Response times for the Cisco equipment using SMART net services shall be 24x7x4. Question No. 15 Question No. 16 Question No. 17 Question No. 18 Is it anticipated that temporary air conditioning will remain in place until the existing host is completely de-commissioned and the new host is on-line? Yes Please clarify that all hardware that all hardware should be installed by manufacturer indicates the assembly of sub-systems of deliverable hardware. Is the non-proprietary vendor to install racks, label and connect cabling as well as perform operational tests with a factory authorized service representative? The intent is that the server and its internal equipment has been assembled by the manufacturer rather than the vendor assembling the server from separately sourced components. A factory-authorized service representative is not required for operational tests unless deemed necessary by the Non-Proprietary Contractor but the Contractor should be prepared to work with the Authority to connect the equipment to external systems and networks as needed to perform the operational test. Will the Non-Proprietary Contractor be required to install the latest firmware to supplied hardware prior to acceptance? The Non-Proprietary Contractor shall deliver the supplied hardware with the latest firmware. Upon successful completion of testing and system acceptance by the Authority, as specified in Division , 1.1.8, the vendor shall not be responsible for further firmware updates. Which party is responsible for installing the time server antenna and cabling? Are both time servers being installed in the Administration Building? Page 4

5 Question No. 19 Question No. 20 The Proprietary Contractor shall be responsible for installing the antenna and cabling. Only one time server shall be installed at the Administration Building. The other shall be installed or otherwise located at the Disaster Recovery site. Please provide additional detail regarding the delivery and testing of the DRS equipment. Can the Proprietary Contractor take delivery of the DRS equipment upon completion of the operational testing? The DRS equipment shall be delivered and tested in the same manner as the primary site equipment. While delivery to the Proprietary Contractor, as soon as practical is desirable, it will depend on the progress and capabilities of the Proprietary Contractor at that point in time. Please verify that all third-party support contracts provided under the Non- Proprietary component of the work will be registered in MWAA s name and that the Proprietary Contractor will be provided with copies of the certifications and warranties.
