3 Ninth Grade Student Assistance Team (S.A.T.) This team is comprised of the student s counselor, dean, school psychologist, and an administrator. With possible input from the student and parents, the team decides on the appropriate Strategies of Success (e.g. Guided Study Hall, etc.) for each student. Referrals typically come from teachers and the F list generated every 3 weeks. Please refer to the Strategies of Success handout if you have additional questions.

Be given the tools to select their own course of study based on their individual future goals. Understand the importance of grades and how to monitor their own cumulative GPA. Learn to become self-advocates and make positive decisions for themselves. Understand the relationship between standardized tests and college admission (TCAP/EXPLORE)

10 The Sophomore Year: Exploring Colleges and Careers Sophomores will Begin to shape their own ideas and goals about possible future careers. Develop standardized test preparation strategies. Customize course choices to better fit future career goals. Engage in College-Readiness skills such as; time management, teamwork, project management, and leadership. Understand the relationship between standardized tests and college admission (TCAP/PLAN)

19 What is Naviance? A service that we use in the counseling/post-grad office to deliver curriculum and support all students at CT as they plan their trail to college. A web-based resource that supports course, career, and college planning Specific to CTHS 19

Naviance Family Connection is on the CT home page under Resources & Links, Naviance Student Student accounts Username is login for access to computers at CTHS Password is student id# For example: Username sallen5@cherrycreekschools.org Password Parents can access their student s account using student login and password 20
