Using these elements, we can translate our clients message into the language of art. Our clients can expect a visual and environmental strategy that sets them apart from their competitors. Skyline Art Services employs hundreds of artists in nearly all the visual media so that any given art program will be unique, engaging, and remarkable. Whenever possible, we incorporate multiple media into each project, including photography, painting, glass, ceramics, paper, and textile, and new media, as well sculptures in wood, metal, stone, and plastic. In addition, we are leading purveyors of the latest in printing technologies. Such variety in itself adds to the visual interest of any art program.

12 Evidence-Based Design Skyline Art Services is an EDAC-Advocate firm. We strongly support Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) as a way to improve patient outcomes through critical design research. We believe an art program makes an essential contribution to effective patientcentered design for healing environments, providing positive distraction for patients and staff alike. As part of the Skyline Signature Experience, we guide our clients through the complexities of evidence-based design (EBD). Both of our founding principals are EDAC certified. In fact, Louise Nicholson Carter was one of the first persons in the U.S. to earn that accreditation. In addition, our vice president Sarajane Eisen, PhD, with over 30 years experience as a researcher and educator, has developed EBD curriculum for graduate and undergraduate interior design programs. Skyline Art Services has also completed innovated research into the role of artwork in evidence-based design, a field that is still in its infancy. We welcome the opportunity to continue that work by devising research programs with clients that support and value research that generates new knowledge. Our critical understanding of evidence-based design does not limit us to a set of defined specifications for subjects and styles in artwork. On the contrary, EBD provides a platform for making informed decisions about artwork based on actual data, rather than intuition.
13 Health Evidence-based design not only supports decisions about subject and style in artwork, but also meets building code requirements for infectious disease control. We ensure that our specified artwork is cleanable, durable, and will not cause glare or other visual hazards that could impair user safety. Safety As design professionals, Skyline Art Services understands and complies with the requirements set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act and healthcare facility codes and guidelines. Furthermore, we consider flammability, volatile organic compounds, even the potential impact on patient privacy as guaranteed by HIPAA. Welfare Visual art has been proven to have measurable therapeutic benefits for patients and staff in healthcare environments, of stress mitigation, reduction of pain perception, and providing positive distraction. In the work environment, the benefits include higher staff productivity and morale. A thoughtful and sensitive art program contributes to these outcomes through the selection of appropriate subjects, styles, and colors.
