2 Requirement 1 - Integrating Healthcare Identifiers int Electrnic Practice Recrds Integrating Healthcare Identifiers int Electrnic Practice Recrds The intent f this Requirement is t make Healthcare Identifiers available fr Secure Message Delivery and fr use in the persnally cntrlled electrnic health (ehealth) recrd. 1 The Federal, state and territry gvernments have develped a natinal Healthcare Identifiers Service (HI Service) which uniquely identifies healthcare prviders and individuals wh seek healthcare. Medicare Australia is the peratr f the HI Service. The HI Service will give individuals and Healthcare Prviders cnfidence that the right health infrmatin is assciated with the right individual at the pint f care. The HI Service allcates three types f healthcare identifiers: 2 Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) - Allcated t individuals enrlled in the Medicare prgram r thse wh are issued with a Department f Veterans Affairs (DVA) treatment card and thers wh seek healthcare in Australia. Healthcare Prvider Identifier Individual (HPI-I) - Allcated t healthcare prviders invlved in prviding patient care. Healthcare Prvider Identifier Organisatin (HPI-O) - Allcated t rganisatins that deliver healthcare (such as hspitals and medical practices) PracSft and Medical Directr have been enhanced t interface with the HI service, and can interact with the HI service in real-time, retrieving and then string a patient s IHI in the system. The Practice: Each registered practice must apply fr an HPI-O (Healthcare Prvider Identifier- Organisatin) number, which must be entered in the assciated field within the practice s details. Practitiners: Each registered practitiner must apply fr an HPI-I (Healthcare Prvider Identifier-Individual) number, which must be entered in the assciated field within the practitiner's details. 3 Requirement 1 - Integrating Healthcare Identifiers int Electrnic Practice Recrds Befre yu begin integrating Healthcare Identifiers in bth Medical Directr and PracSft Obtain the fllwing infrmatin: 1. Ensure yur practice is accredited with RACGP fr PIP. Fr mre infrmatin n accreditatin: 2. Obtain a HPI-O. Fr infrmatin, visit the Medicare fr Healthcare Prfessinals web site 3. Obtain a HPI-I. Fr infrmatin, visit the Medicare fr Healthcare Prfessinals site 4. Obtain a PKI certificate/s PKI Certificate Where t btain PKI Certificate Supprted in MD/PS Versin PIP Incentive Requirement HI Service PKI Certificate HI Signing Certificate HI Encryptin Certificate er/health-identifier/index.jsp#n10271 MD/PS a r later. 4 Requirement 1 - Integrating Healthcare Identifiers int Electrnic Practice Recrds Practice Cnfiguratin fr Medical Directr with/withut PracSft Once yu apply fr yur Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificates, yu will receive these certificates n a CD. Ntes: The NASH PKI Certificate, required fr Persnally Cntrlled Electrnic Health Recrd (PCEHR) and Secure Messaging, will be prvided n a separate CD. If yu use bth Medical Directr and PracSft yu nly need t perfrm the steps belw in ne prduct. Imprt HI Signing and Encryptin Certificates 1. Within Medical Directr, select Tls > Optins. Select the PKI tab. 2. Click the Imprt Certificate buttn t call the assciated imprt windw, as shwn belw. 3. Via the Type drp-dwn menu, select the HI Signing Certificate ptin. 4. Click the buttn t brwse t, and select yur HI Signing Certificate (Fac_sign.p12). 5. Enter the HI Signing Certificate's passwrd. 6. Click the Imprt buttn. 7. Click the Imprt Certificate buttn again, t call the assciated imprt windw. 8. Via the Type drp-dwn menu, select the HI Encryptin Certificate ptin. 9. Click the buttn t brwse t, and select yur HI Encryptin Certificate (Fac_encrypt.p12). 10. Enter the HI Encryptin Certificate's passwrd. 11. Click the Imprt buttn. 12. Select the Practice tab. 3. Within the HPI-O N. field, enter yur supplied Healthcare Prvider Identifier- Organisatin number. 4. Click the Save buttn t cnfirm, and clse the Optins windw. Recrd HPI-I Number 1. Within Medical Directr, select User > Setup Users t access the User Database. 2. Lcate and duble-click the user recrd yu wish t edit. 3. Hwever, it is highly recmmended that yu fllw this prcess fr at least ne patient nw, t ensure that yur setup is cnfigured and functining crrectly. 1. Within Medical Directr s Clinical Windw (r via the Patient List F10), pen the Patient Details windw. 2. Select the Pt Details tab. 3. Ensure that the fllwing details have been recrded and are crrect: First Name Surname Medicare N and psitin n card, r DVA N. Date f Birth Gender 4. Click the Validate buttn. The validatin cmmences, and upn psitive verificatin, the IHI Recrd Status will read Verified Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk Limited Level 4, 201 Pacific Highway, St Lenards, NSW

7 Requirement 1 - Integrating Healthcare Identifiers int Electrnic Practice Recrds Practice Cnfiguratin fr PracSft-nly Users Imprt HI Signing and Encryptin Certificates Fr Existing PracSft Users: If yu are an existing PracSft user, and yu cnduct nline claiming, yu will already have a Department f Human Services PKI certificate. Yu d nt need t imprt a new certificate. If yu already have a PKI certificate, yu can update it by applying t include access t the HI Service at Fr New PracSft Users, yu will need: Yur IHI Signing Certificate Yur IHI Encryptin Certificate Save these t a lcatin yu will remember. Yu will need t access this lcatin shrtly. 1. Within PracSft select Setup > Glbal Settings. 2. Select the IHI Search tab. 3. Click the Imprt Signing Certificate buttn. The Imprt Signing Certificate windw appears. 4. Click the buttn t lcate and select the Signing Certificate (Fac_sign.p12). Yu will be returned t the Imprt Signing Certificate windw. 5. Enter the passwrd fr the Signing Certificate. 6. Click the OK buttn. Yu will be returned t the Glbal Settings windw. 7. Click the Imprt Encryptin Certificate buttn. The Imprt Encryptin Certificate windw appears. 8. Click the buttn t lcate and select the Encryptin Certificate (Fac_encrypt.p12). Yu will be returned t the Imprt Encryptin Certificate windw. 9. Enter the passwrd fr the Encryptin Certificate. 10. Click the OK buttn. Yu will be returned t the Glbal Settings windw. 11. Lcate and duble-click the user recrd yu wish t edit. The Practitiner Details windw appears. 3. Enter yur Healthcare Prvider Identifier- Individual number int the HPI-I N field prvided. 4.
