1 General Questions 1 What do I need to connect to a Wi-Fi Hotspot? You'll require a Wi-Fi device. A Wi-Fi device may be a laptop, a mobile phone or a tablet. Before connecting to a hotspot, ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your device. 2 What's Orange Wi-Fi Zone? Orange Wi-Fi Zone is a public hotspot, whereby you may access the Internet for free for a period of time. 3 Where can I find an Orange Wi-Fi Zone? In any Orange Shops across the island. For an updated list, visit Wi-Fi Connection Set Up 1 How to set up Wi-Fi connection on my laptop? (a) If you're using Windows 7: (b) Else, if you're using Windows Vista: Right click on the network icon located at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Click on connect to a network. Select Orange Wi-Fi in the list of available wireless networks & click on connect. (c) If you're using a MAC: Click on the wireless icon found on top right of the screen. From the list of available wireless networks, choose Orange Wi-Fi. (b) If you're using an Android phone: Select the Settings icon. Select Wireless & networks. Click on the Wi-Fi checkbox to turn Wi-Fi on. Select Wi-Fi settings & from the list choose Orange Wi-Fi. Click on connect to start surfing. (c) If you're using a BlackBerry: Click on the Manage connection icon. On the settings menu, select Wi-Fi to turn it on. Scroll down & click on Wi-Fi Network. Select Orange Wi-Fi from the list of networks. (d) If you're using an HTC phone: Click on the Menu button. Select the Settings icon. Click on Wireless & networks. Click on the Wi-Fi checkbox to turn Wi-Fi on. Click on Wi-Fi settings & select Orange Wi-Fi from the list of networks. Click on connect & start surfing. 3 What SSID (wireless network) must I use?

2 Public hotspots' SSIDs will be 'Orange Wi-Fi'. Whereas, private hotspots' SSIDs might be different. If you're in a private hotspot, enquire about the SSID at a helpdesk. Login to Orange Wi-Fi 1 How to log in with my laptop? Once you are connected to Orange Wi-Fi, open a web browser. The Orange Wi-Fi login page will appear. If it does not, type in your address bar. The login page in an Orange Wi-Fi Zone will as per below figure. In case you're using a tablet, the same log in page will appear. 2 How to log in with my mobile phone? Once connected to SSID Orange Wi-Fi, select the browser icon. Below login page will appear. If it does not, type in your address bar. Note: If you're using an iphone, as soon as you click on SSID Orange Wi-Fi, Safari will be opened. Surfing with Orange Wi-Fi 1 Free Surfing in Orange Wi-Fi Zones & sponsored Orange Wi-Fi Zones

3 In an Orange Wi-Fi Zone, you may surf freely for 15 minutes, whereas in a sponsored Orange Wi-Fi Zone, you will be able to surf freely for 30 minutes. Customers visting an Orange shop will obtain 30 free Wi-Fi minutes per day. Note: The 15 or 30 free Wi-Fi minutes are per day, per Wi-Fi device (MAC address) & per Wi-Fi Zone. 2 How to surf freely in Orange Wi-Fi Zones & sponsored Orange Wi-Fi Zones? On the Wi-Fi login page (known as the captive portal), click on 'connect' to start surfing freely. Once you click on connect, you'll be redirected to below page. If you're using a laptop, you'll see the screen to the left & if you're using a mobile phone, you'll see the right hand screen. Note: If you're using an iphone, once you click on connect, the 'you're online' page will appear & disappear within seconds. To start surfing, click on the Safari icon. If you wish to know the remaining time left, type in your address bar. 3 How to continue surfing after my free minutes are over?

4 To continue surfing, you may buy a Wi-Fi package by SMS if you're an Orange mobile customer (prepay & postpay) or you may buy a Wi-Fi card at selected Orange Wi-Fi Zones. Upon purchase of a Wi-Fi package you will obtain a PIN of length 8 digits & characters. Enter the PIN on the captive portal to start surfing. Once you enter the PIN & click on login, you will be redirected to below page. 4 What's your selection of Wi-Fi package & how can I buy a Wi-Fi package? Wi-Fi package 15 minutes 1 hour 24 hours 5 days 5 For how long can I use a Wi-Fi package?

5 It will depend on the Wi-Fi package you buy. For example, if you buy a 1 hour Wi-Fi package, you may use the 1 hour for a period of 7 days from first login. Access to a Wi-Fi package starts at first log in and lasts for the package validity period purchased. You may login and out as many times you like during this duration. 6 I buy a Wi-Fi package by SMS with my Orange SIM card. How will you charge me? - If you're an Orange prepay customer, the cost of the Wi-Fi package will be deducted from your balance. Say, you SMS 'buy wifi15m' on 8020, your prepay account will be deducted by Rs 15 (VAT exc.), that is Rs If you've insufficient balance, you will be informed by SMS to recharge your prepay account. - If you're an Orange postpay customer, you will be charged on your bill at the end of the month. 7 I bought a Wi-Fi package by SMS. Where can I use it? Upon purchase of a Wi-Fi package by SMS, you will receive a SMS from 8020, which says 'Welcome to Orange Wi-Fi. Your PIN is XXXXXXXX.' The PIN may be used on any Wi-Fi device (mobile phone & laptop). 8 What's the difference between a mobile internet package & a Wi-Fi package? A mobile internet (data) package may be used in any location that contains 2G/3G coverage. When you buy a mobile internet package on your mobile phone, the package may be used on your phone only. A Wi-Fi package, on the other hand, may be used in a Wi-Fi hotspot only. Note: Wi-Fi packages bought by SMS may be used in public hotspots only. Wi-Fi packages bought on a mobile phone may be used on any Wi-Fi device. 9 Where can I buy a Wi-Fi card? Wi-Fi cards will be on sale in Orange Wi-Fi Zones, except in Orange Shops. 10 How do I log out? Maximise the browser window that is showing 'You're online'. Click on the 'logout' button to disconnect. Your account will stay open unless you click on the logout button. In case you accidentally lose the above web browser page, type in your address bar & the window will reappear. 11 What if I do not close the browser window indicating 'You're online'? Your session will stay open and you will be charged for a further 10 minutes. The session will automatically shut down due to inactivity after 10 minutes. 12 What is the 'free sites' link?

6 It contains a list of websites which you may access free of charge at any time. These websites may be accessed free of charge only from the 'free sites' link. Websites which may be accessed freely are: mtfoundation.mauritiustelecom.com What speed can I get with Orange Wi-Fi? This will depend on broadband package the business customer subscribes to. In Orange Shops, you should be able to get up to 8Mbps download speed. 14 Is there a download limit? No. There's no download limit in Wi-Fi Zones. Usage is based on time rather than data transfer amount. This applies for both free & paid surfing. Note: A fair usage policy may apply. 15 Can I make voice calls in a Wi-Fi hotspot? Yes.
