To imagine our high streets as simply a collection of shops, services and meeting places is to miss the magic that happens when people bring places to life, and places give people a stage! More Local Speciality shops Restaurants/shop mix needs to change Markets (First is in the Broadway) A Cinema? Wet Fish shop with restaurant attached? Greengrocers? What else? A Hotel? Special top flight Restaurant? Is Mill Hill a Main Town Centre in Barnet?

10 850 Jobs going at NIMR(MRC) 100 New jobs at Barry M Cosmetics (Millbrook Park) London Plan Central ZONE Centric. Housing costs, pushing people further out. Business Incubator? Technology biased How do we encourage businesses at per sq ft rather than 60+per sq ft? Argos/Homebase/TGI will be replaced hopefully by more vibrant retailers/restaurants.

35 Chairman - Nomination is John H Gillett. John has lived in Mill Hill since the age of 3. Like many he has used Mill Hill very much as a Dormitory Town, working in London in the IT Industry in senior Sales & Marketing roles, mainly dealing with Public Sector organisations. He is married with 1 daughter and was instrumental in setting up the Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum to be pro-active about our future. John is now semi-retired and is able to devote considerable time to this worthy cause. He is also a Group Member of the Mill Hill Preservation Society s Committee.

36 Deputy Chairman Nomination is Richard Logue Richard has lived in Mill Hill for 20 years. He works as a consultant in the railway industry and is the Chair of the Mill Hill Residents Association. Richard is also a governor at Frith Manor School and is married with two teenage children. Treasurer Nomination is Paul Edwards Paul is a life-long resident of Mill Hill and has a keen interest in the future of the area in which we all live. He has over 30 years experience in accountancy and is currently Treasurer of both the Mill Hill High Street and Mill Hill Residents Associations. He also has strong expertise in IT Systems.
