2 2 Discover just how much your Black Account can do for you Your new Black Account has more to offer you than an ordinary current account. It provides you with a wealth of useful benefits. Some are focused on travel, protection and leisure and others, of course, around banking. More importantly, they are all centred around you and your way of life. As there are benefits you will need to sign up for, and others that you will get automatically, all the details are explained in the next few pages. 4 4 Which benefits should I register for? As a Black Account customer, you have access to the Black Membership Services area on the RBS website. Here you ll find details of the benefits your account offers and information on how to register for them. Travel benefits Worldwide Airport Lounge Access Your Black Account gives you an open invitation to over 560 airport lounges around the world, including more than 20 in the UK, subject to availability. This means that you can now truly relax before going on holiday, regardless of your class of travel or the airline you re flying with. Relaxing ambience for you and your guests. Use of facilities most lounges have access to , internet, phone and fax. Register your flight and receive text alerts to keep you up-to-date with check-in and boarding times, gate numbers and your final call. Guests travelling with you, who don t have a Black Account themselves, can also use the lounges for a payment of 15 per person. An Airport Angel Membership Card will be sent to you as soon as you register and will be valid for three years. We ll automatically send you a new card when your existing membership card is due to expire, provided that you re still a Black Account customer. 5 5 Which benefits require registration? Identity Theft Assistance Identity theft can be expensive it can also cause months of inconvenience. If this should happen, this benefit will help give you the support you need. Your credit report is monitored by Experian. They provide you with unlimited access to your credit report and you can set up text or alerts to inform you of any changes to your credit status. Monitoring of the internet and selected data sources for personal details is provided by Garlik Limited. Once you ve registered we ll alert you if any of your information is found, and give you clear guidance on the action you should take to prevent any harm. To benefit from the above services, all accounts holders will need to register for them either online or over the phone. You will also receive: Personal support a dedicated caseworker will help you restore your identity, including where necessary, our home investigating service. This all comes as standard, you don t need to register for this element Valuable document registration lets you keep important information, such as your passport number or details of insurance policies, in one secure place. If you lose them, we can give you all the details CIFAS registration your details are registered with CIFAS (the UK s fraud prevention service). If you are a victim of identity theft, an optional alert can be placed on your credit file to request additional security checks on future applications for credit to make sure they re genuine. 7 ANNUAL TRAVEL INSURANCE 7 Which benefits are included without registration? Travel benefits 5* Defaqto rated Worldwide Travel Insurance 2013 You and your family will get annual Worldwide travel insurance. It covers unlimited trips up to 90 days that take you anywhere in the world, every year. The policy also provides: Up to 10,000 per person for cancellation or curtailment of your trip and up to 10 million cover for medical expenses Cover for unlimited trips of up to 31 days for winter sports Covers you, your partner and any un-married, dependent children under 18 years or under 23 if living at home, and in full time education. No upper age limit. Please read your Insurance Policy Summaries for full details. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, you may still be covered but you will need to call Membership Services on (Minicom ). for a screening you may be required to pay a premium for cover, or we may decide not to cover you for this condition. 8 8 Black Travel Service The Black Travel Service is operated by Affinion International Travel Ltd. It gives you attractive savings on a range of flights and holidays, and provides you with: A 10% discount on all travel products booked through the Black Account Travel Service. A complimentary car hire upgrade, in addition to the above 10% discount, if you book a hire car through the Black Account Travel Service, subject to availability. Book online at rbs.co.uk/blackaccountbenefits or call (Minicom ). Travel Money To make your life easier, you can buy foreign currency and Travellers Cheques using our travel money service. You ll get access to preferential rates and can get your order delivered direct to your home or any RBS branch whatever you d prefer. The value of your travel money order must be at least 100 to qualify for preferential exchange rates and free home delivery. 10 10 Protection benefits 5* Defaqto rated Mobile Phone Insurance Your Black Account mobile phone insurance covers up to four mobiles (including iphone and BlackBerry), each up to the original retail value. Covers the original retail value of the handset (exluding embelishments). You must pay an excess of 75 towards the claim. Covers loss, theft, accidental damage and breakdown including water damage, liquid and malicious damage, as well as electrical or mechanical faults. Unauthorised calls cover up to 2,500 for monthly contracts and 100 for pay-as-you-go customers. Worldwide protection wherever you are in the world, you re covered. All claims must be reported within 60 days of the loss, theft, damage or breakdown being discovered, unless you are outside the UK, in which case you must report the claim within 60 days of returning to the UK. Accessory cover up to 250 a claim for any accessories that are lost, stolen or damaged at the same time as your phone. Accessories include chargers, cases, earphones and memory cards. 12 12 Protection benefits Home Emergency Service From a burst pipe to a broken boiler, you can turn to us for help sorting everything out. We ll even pick up the bill up to 750 (including VAT). 24-hour helpline emergencies don t worry about when they happen, and now you don t need to either. Covers two homes your main residence and a second home owned by you in the UK. Approved repairers finding someone you can count on can be a challenge, but we ve taken care of that. Cover up to 750 per call-out (including VAT) for parts and labour. Does not cover homes in Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scilly Isles and Isle of Man. It s important to remember that this isn t a household, buildings or contents insurance policy, or an equipment maintenance contract. It is recommended that you have a building insurance policy covering your home and you should also consider a contents insurance policy covering your possessions. 13 13 European Car Breakdown Cover You re automatically covered for emergency call out through Green Flag. Whether you break down at home or on the roadside anywhere in Europe, help is just a phone call away. Additional call charges apply when calling from abroad. Roadside assistance anywhere in the UK and Europe. (Cover in Europe will not apply to vehicles over 10 years old). Home Call help when your car won t start at home. Recovery service if Green Flag can t get your car going, they ll take you to a destination of your choice or to a suitable repairer at no additional cost. All your cars are protected as long as the car is registered in your name at your home address, it s covered. Please read your Insurance Policy Summaries for full details. Call Green Flag on or if your car breaks down or you need emergency assistance in the UK. If you break down outside the UK call Green Flag on +44 (0) Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lost and Stolen Card Assistance When your cards are lost or stolen, the consequences can be far-reaching. Black Account Lost and Stolen Card Assistance eases the burden whether you re at home or abroad. Minimise the disruption Emergency assistance round-theclock cover, worldwide for all your cards, no matter the provider. Card cancellation we ll arrange for all your missing registered cards to be cancelled, replacements ordered and cover up to 100 of communication costs a year. Emergency cash advance up to 5,000, subject to status, repayable within 28 days. Assistance in replacing driver s licence, passports and personal belongings. Whilst you may hold Lost and Stolen Card Assistance as standard with other card providers your Black Account Lost and Stolen Card Assistance may offer additional cover. 14 14 Leisure benefits Black Tickets Service This service gives you access to top live entertainment at preferential prices. You can get 25% cashback on concert and theatre tickets for must-see shows, booked through the Black Tickets Service. You can claim discounts on four bookings per year, (a maximum of six tickets per event) so it s a great opportunity to treat friends, family or colleagues. Lines are open 8am to 10pm Monday to Sunday, 364 days a year (excluding Christmas Day) 24/7 Black Concierge Service Need help arranging that trip of a lifetime or booking a table at an exclusive restaurant? Looking for that special gift? Our concierge service is there to help any time. This service for Black Account customers is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year including public and bank holidays. Call the 24/7 Black Concierge Service on (Minicom ). Preferential Banking Offers From time to time, we ll make you aware of offers you may be able to take advantage of.

15 15 Private Black Credit Card Our Private Black Credit Card is reserved for Black Account holders only. If you apply, you ll receive a card that not only gives you substantial purchasing power and preferential rates but also the opportunity to earn 1.25 RBS YourPoints for every 1 you spend on qualifying transactions. The Private Black Credit Card is subject to availability and you must have a Black Account to qualify. You also need to be over 18 years old and you will be subject to a credit review. The minimum credit limit on this card is 5,000. As with any credit card, your card: Has up to 56 days interest free credit on purchases if you pay your balance (and previous month s balance) in full and on time each month Has an Internet Fraud Guarantee using your Private Black Credit Card to shop online is as safe as shopping on the high street. That s because we guarantee to refund any loss you incur due to online fraud. Interest fees and charges are payable in line with our terms and conditions. With your Private Black Credit Card you can also expect: No annual fee RBS Secure create a personal password for your Private Black Credit Card and enjoy the added security and reassurance when shopping online at websites that participate in the scheme. Representative Example: Representative 14.9% APR (variable) based on an assumed credit limit of 1,200. Standard interest rate for purchases: 14.94% p.a. (variable). The actual credit limit assigned to individual accounts will vary depending on our credit assessment of you.

You ll also earn 1.25 RBS Your Points for every 1 you spend on qualifying transactions on your Private Black Credit Card. You can exchange the points you earn for an inspired choice of rewards from flights and holidays, to vouchers for selected stores and days of pure enjoyment. Shopping vouchers for top UK brands including Harvey Nichols, Marks & Spencer, amazon.co.uk and Boots. Travel and holidays through our travel partners, easyjet and ebookers.com, you can choose from over 100 airlines, 56,000 hotels and many leading car hire companies. Great days out use your points to treat yourself to anything from a luxury spa break to a family day out, or a trip to the theatre. 17 17 Cashback Plus our new debit card loyalty programme Cashback Plus is a new benefit available on your Black Account. It s our way of rewarding you for being with us. Each time you use your RBS Visa debit card on qualifying purchases at one of our participating retailers, you ll earn at least 1% of your spend back in Rewards, plus even more with personalised offers. These will automatically be added to your Cashback Plus balance. Here are just a few of the places you can earn Rewards: It couldn t be easier to sign up All you have to do is sign up online for Cashback Plus at rbs.co.uk/ cashbackplus and follow the simple activation steps and you can start earning Rewards right away it really is that easy. It s free to join You ll just need your debit card in order to sign up You can earn at least 1% of your spend in Rewards What are Rewards? As a minimum, 1 spend equals 0.01 Rewards which equates to 0.01 when redeemed.

19 19 Choose how you d prefer to bank with us There are several alternative ways to bank with us. This is well worth doing because they ll let you do a lot of your everyday banking without you giving up your time to visit a branch. Digital Banking With Digital Banking you can manage your money 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by visiting rbs.co.uk You can: Check your balance View or download your PDF statements online and search back up to 7 years Make transfers between your accounts Pay bills and other people Make international payments to family and friends abroad View and manage Direct Debits and standing orders. Keeping you safe and secure Our priority is to make banking online or on your mobile as safe and secure as possible. That s why we made our commitment to you. You re protected by our Online and Mobile Security Promise we will refund money lost from your account if we find you have been a victim of banking fraud. It s our commitment to you and gives clear guidance on what you need to do to protect yourself. Our free Rapport security software also provides an additional layer of security. It works in conjunction with other antivirus software installed on your computer. Download it for free at rbs.co.uk/rapport All you need to register for Digital Banking is your account number, sort code and debit card number. Go to rbs.co.uk/digital and follow the instructions on screen. Mobile Banking There s an easy way to stay in touch with your finances even when you re out and about using your mobile. To take advantage of our Mobile Banking service you will first need to register for our Digital Banking service, to find out more and register, visit rbs.co.uk/digital. Once you have registered for Digital Banking, you will need your Digital Banking customer number, debit card and some of your personal details to register for the service. Your details will be verified within 24 hours and we ll send you a text message when you re all set to go. continued overleaf

20 20 Users must have an RBS personal account with a debit card, be over 11 and have a mainland UK mobile number starting with 07 to use this service. We ve developed Mobile Banking for BlackBerry, Android, iphone, ipad and Windows. If you download one of our free apps you can do the following: Get Cash from any RBS, NatWest or Tesco cash machine without using your debit card. Get Cash limits will apply for this service, including a maximum withdrawal limit of 250 per day. To use the service the amount requested must be within the daily withdrawal limit for your debit card and you must have at least 25 available funds to withdraw from your account (including any overdraft facility). Pay your contacts send money to RBS/NatWest app users or anyone who has a valid UK Visa debit, credit or prepaid card using just their UK mobile number. If you are paying someone with an RBS/NatWest mobile app the Payee will be notified by SMS and funds will reach the payee s account instantly. If your contact does not have an RBS/NatWest mobile app but has a valid UK Visa debit, credit or prepaid card, you will have to inform your contact separately about the exact amount. This will be a secret between you and your contact. We ll send your contact a text message notifying them of the payment but not the amount. The text message will have a link to a Visa payment collection site. On this collection site your contact will have to enter the exact amount and their Visa card number. Payee has 7 days to collect a payment from the day they receive the notification. We ll notify you by text message when they ve collected the payment and your balance has been debited. Sum of all your payments, on any given day, to RBS/NatWest app users or non RBS/NatWest app users cannot exceed 250. This limit is independent of your daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits. Customers must have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility).

21 21 Pay your friends, family, credit card or utility bills just set up and make your first payment to each new payee in Digital Banking beforehand. Move money between your accounts transfers are processed immediately and your balances are updated. Check balances and statements view an up-to-the-minute account balance and recent transactions for all your accounts that you manage using Digital Banking. Near me find your nearest RBS branch or cash machine. Mobile phone top-up if you have a pay-as-you-go mobile you can top it up and up to four others too (this service is not available on 3). Remember, standard network message and data rates apply when using Mobile Banking, and sometimes extra network charges can apply when you use the service abroad. It s important to check this with your network provider. Pay Your Contacts, Get Cash and the Windows app will be available for RBS customers in Scotland (only). You can download our Mobile Banking app for free, just search for RBS on your smartphone from your app store or text APP to Text Alerts Get the latest information on your account with balance and transaction information sent direct to your mobile Limit alerts get a text whenever your account hits any upper or lower limit you set. Why not use these to confirm when you ve been paid or to warn you if your balance is getting low? Balance updates we ll send your account balance to your mobile phone once a week on the day you choose. You could choose to receive an update each Friday, so that you know how much you have to spend over the weekend. Act Now Alerts Our alerts can help you reduce or even avoid fees for unpaid transactions. These texts or s specify the time by which you should have cleared funds in your account to cover all payments and keep your account in credit. 22 22 What else is included? Private 24 Wherever you are home or abroad you can take advantage of our dedicated Telephone Banking service at any time, day or night. All you pay for is the call. Speak to an experienced team of advisers who can help you manage your finances any time of the day. Get real-time balances and up-to-the-minute statements. Make instant transfers between your RBS accounts, pay bills and make payments. Manage Direct Debits and standing orders. Get information on our wide range of financial services. Call Private 24 on (Minicom ). Visa Debit card As long as you have enough money available in your account, you can use this card to: Withdraw up to 750 a day from any cash machine or Post Office in the UK Withdraw cash from any cash machine overseas which displays the Visa logo (you may have to pay fees and charges for this) Shop in store or online; and Get cashback from selected retailers. Statements By registering for Digital Banking you will be able to view them online anytime and you can also download them monthly in PDF format. If you choose to receive paper statements, you will automatically receive them quarterly. However, you can change this to monthly or paperless at any time. Direct Debits and standing orders To help you manage your money your account allows you to set up Direct Debits and standing orders to pay bills and transfer money automatically. It s important to remember that if you don t have enough money in your account, we may not be able to pay a Direct Debit and standing order from

23 23 your account and that you may be charged an Unpaid Transaction Fee for each payment we can t make. Please see your Personal & Private Current Account Fees & Interest Rates leaflet for more information. Overdraft facility Your Black Account has a 500 interestfree overdraft (if you have arranged one with us). You can apply for or increase an overdraft by applying online at rbs.co.uk or by calling Private 24 on (Minicom ). All overdraft applications are subject to eligibility criteria and a standard credit check. Cheque book If it will make life easier for you, you can choose to have a cheque book with this account. To order one, call Private 24 on (Minicom ). Switching made easy The Current Account Switch Service can make life easier, by guaranteeing to switch your account in just 7 working days (excluding Bank and Public Holidays). We ll: Transfer all your regular payments, like Direct Debits, standing orders and bill payments; Redirect any payments into or out of your old account to your RBS account for 13 months; and keep you up to date on how your switch is going, with texts and s CURRENT ACCOUNT SWITCHING To find out more visit rbs.co.uk/switch, or call Private 24 on (Minicom ). Emergency Cash If your debit card is lost or stolen you can still get access to your money by using our 24-hour Emergency Cash service. Call us immediately on (Minicom ). To safeguard your account, you ll be asked a few quick security questions before we give you a code that will allow you to withdraw your money at any RBS, NatWest or Ulster Bank cash machine in the UK. If you do your banking online or use our Private telephone service, you can withdraw up to 300. If you aren t you can still withdraw up to 60 to tide you over. These amounts are providing you have the money available in your account. As a minimum you must have 20 in your account to use this service. We will send you a replacement card within 24 hours of you reporting it missing.

24 24 What do I do next with my Black Account? What do I do next with my Private Black Credit Card? We will stay in regular touch to make sure you are getting everything you need from your Black Account. You will receive a new debit card and PIN if you are new to RBS. If you are an existing customer who has upgraded your account to Black Account then you will not receive a new debit card until your existing card expires. If you are new to RBS, please make sure you ve activated your debit card. You ll find the activation instructions on your card. If you have not received your debit card and PIN, please call Private 24 on (Minicom ) Register for the required benefits.
