Position Description 1. Primary Purpose (e.g., State the primary reason why this position exists). Use explicit language. The RtP Ops Analyst is an experienced office professional primarily responsible for ensuring payment of invoices occurs in a timely manner and in accordance with Alcoa's compliance and statutory obligations. A solid working knowledge of Accounts Payable/Procurement systems and business processes, analytical skills including the ability to perform complex reconciliations, sound understanding of ASAT and GST requirements, and strong communication skills are all required in this role. The key activities for this role will be resolving the difficult/one off flow path issues preventing the payment of invoices and acting as the liason point for internal customers. Whilst most routine transactional activity will be handled by the Alcoa Global Transactional Centre in Bangalore this role will also be required to perform some routine tasks which are not practical to perform off shore such as processing of Manual cheques. 1. Business Alignment - Understands how his/her work (or project) relates to specific areas of the Accounts Payable strategy and goals. - Works with his/her Supervisor or other specialist within the assigned area to understand the priorities, needs and requirements that drive the work (or project) effort. 2. Execution - Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge in the assigned area of specialty. - Responsible for providing Accounts Payable flow path analysis support within the region as assigned by his/her Supervisor. - Performs special projects (including data collection and analysis, root cause analysis, and other analytical work) as assigned by his/her Supervisor and makes improvement recommendations. 2. Key Challenges (e.g., working with unskilled workforce; handling unique technical problems or customer issues; working across remote locations; balancing conflicting priorities; etc.). 2 1. Liaison with internal/external customers and outsourcing providers to log, analyse and resolve issues regarding timely payments of invoices. One of the key challenges facing this role is managing the communications with internal customers, suppliers and the outsourcing provider to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained without compromising the compliance requirements of Accounts Payable. 2. Resolution of complex flow path queries which have been escalated from the Global Transaction Centre. The key challenge in this area will be to identify the issue, follow the audit trail of what has occurred and resolve in a way that satifies the customer without comprimising compliance to Alcoa's policies, procedures and statutory obligations. This should also include Root Cause anaylsis of the issue and development of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. 3. Major Activities (e.g., solve technical/equipment problems; size up problem situations; offer expert advice; serve as a mentor/coach, etc.). Investigation, Analysis and Resolution of complex Accounts Payable flow path issues.
