2 Sussex County Partnership Scholarships FACT SHEET Three scholarships will be awarded annually. 1 Delaware Tech and University of Delaware 1 Delaware Tech and Delaware State University 1 Delaware Tech and Wilmington University To be awarded in April to three Sussex County Seniors (Milford included). Application deadline is February 28, Selection is based on merit and need. Scholarship is for full tuition to earn an associate degree and a completion bachelor s degree in Sussex County. Student must complete a technical associate degree program at DTCC Owens Campus (parallel program is excluded). Student must advance to the Partnership Center and complete a baccalaureate degree program offered by the awarding Partner institution (UD, DSU, or WU). The baccalaureate program must be offered in the Partnership Center and chosen from one of the eligible programs defined by the Scholarship. Students should apply to the Partnership offering the major that best meets their educational goals. Students may apply to more than one Partnership.

3 DELAWARE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PURPOSE: To enable deserving students to earn a bachelor's degree in Sussex County by first earning an associate degree from Delaware Tech Owens Campus and then advancing to the William A. Carter Partnership Center in Georgetown to complete the requirements for a bachelor's degree through Delaware State University. Eligible majors for this Scholarship are: Social Work APPLICANT MUST: 1. Complete the Delaware Tech & Delaware State University Higher Education SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION. 2. Complete the FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID form available in the high school counseling office. 3. Complete the ADMISSIONS APPLICATION for Delaware Tech. 4. Submit the above three items by February 28, 2014 to Financial Aid Office, Delaware Tech- Owens Campus, Student Services Center, College Drive, Georgetown, DE Complete the ADMISSIONS APPLICATION for Delaware State University no later than the semester in which graduation from Delaware Tech is anticipated. Consult with a Delaware State University counselor. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: RESTRICTIONS: 1. Eligible high school seniors must be a resident of Sussex County to apply for this Scholarship. Milford High School students will be considered Sussex County residents for purposes of this Scholarship. 2. Selection will be based on a combination of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. 1. This Scholarship is for TUITION ONLY at Delaware Technical Community College and at Delaware State University in Sussex County. 2. This Scholarship will be forfeited if the recipient does not enroll in the academic term for which the Scholarship is awarded or if the student s GPA falls below a The Scholarship is renewable until the bachelor's degree is earned or until the number of credits required for the degree, including approved credits transferred to the degree program, are earned. Continuing eligibility is based on maintaining a 2.0 GPA toward the degree according to the institution policy. 4. A recipient may attend college as a full or part-time student. 5. Upon completion of the associate s degree at Delaware Tech, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, the recipient must apply and be eligible for admission to Delaware State University. 6. A student may take a leave of absence with prior written consent based on the institution s policy granting the consent. The written request must be submitted to the Financial Aid office of Delaware Tech for associate degree interruption or the Partnership Institution (located in the William A. Carter Partnership Center) in which you are enrolled for bachelor s degree interruption.

Your signature authorizes the College Registrar and Financial Aid Officer to forward copies of all transcripts and financial aid forms to the Scholarship Committee.
