1 Videoconference Opportunities and Virtual Field Trips Virtual Field Trips can happen in the comfort of your classroom, library or auditorium via the power of live video. There are 2 ways to participate: Via the web live stream and via a live video conference call using various platforms. In Manor ISD we have partnered with ESC 13 and use the software ClearSea. Below are the many content providers that offer both free and paid events. TETN Texas Education Telecommunication Network Cost Free to Minimal Cost The mission of the Texas Education Telecommunications Network (TETN) is to facilitate communications among educational entities throughout Texas to improve student performance and to increase efficiency of educational operations via an effective telecommunications network. CILC Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration kc3.aspx Cost Free to Minimal Cost Search for over 1,525 unique teacher evaluated K- 12 interactive video distance learning programs, aligned with national k- 12 curriculum standards, offered by over 225 content providers from around the world. CILC provides the most comprehensive listing of video conference providers and collaboration projects available for K- 12 educators. It is necessary to have a PIN to request a connection. Connect2Texas Cost Free to $100 or more per site/per session Connect2Texas is a network of Texas- based educational content providers including museums, cultural, historical, and scientific organizations, and authors. These providers utilize interactive videoconferencing to connect to schools and deliver live educational programs and professional development to school children and educators around Texas and across the country. 4 Lifesize Virtual Field Trips must register for events LifeSize Grant Assistance Program will host unique Virtual Field Trips each month during the 2013 school year. Virtual Field Trips, powered by live video via LifeSize UVC Video Center, are a great way to virtually transport your class on a fun learning excursion, without ever leaving the classroom, library or auditorium. All you need to view the virtual field trip is access to an Internet connection, a computer and speakers. All Virtual Field Trips will be hosted on their website for you to watch, but you must register for the event to receive the link.
