2 Welcome to the first of our Project Management Alumni events in We re delighted to have you join us today for this professional development workshop, Projects in the Lean Six Sigma World. We are hosting this special event with Cardiff Business School, who will be showcasing their expertise in Lean and Six Sigma techniques and their application to project management scenarios. Dr Maneesh Kumar will be leading today s event and will be joined by guest speaker Rhian Hamer, from the Ministry of Justice. 4 Maneesh Kumar is a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. He has a PhD in the application of Six Sigma within UK manufacturing SMEs, a Masters in Research and a B.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering. Maneesh is actively involved in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Quality Management research within SMEs, the Automotive Industry, Service Industries and Public Sector organisations. His research outputs include an edited book, five edited conference proceedings, two book chapters and over eighty peer-reviewed journal publications and conference papers. Dr Maneesh Kumar Senior Lecturer Cardiff Business School Maneesh has been involved in delivering LSS training up to Black Belt level and has delivered several workshops on LSS application in different types and sizes of industries. Clients include Kwik-Fit Insurance Services, Standard Life, Admiral, Principality, Bakkavor Group, Norbert Dentressangle, NHS Grampian, NHS Sheltand, Edinburgh City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, and Tata Motors. Maneesh is also a regular speaker at International Conferences and Seminars on LSS & Process Excellence.

5 Rhian Hamer is a change management specialist, with a passion for leading business transformations. She is a highly experienced Continuous Improvement Expert, with a proven background in operations, organisational development and supply chain management. Rhian joined the public sector six years ago, where she successfully embedded lean thinking and practice throughout the Ministry of Justice. Rhian is currently leading transformation of Shared Services processes, people and technology in line with wider government strategies. Rhian Hamer Change Management Specialist Ministry of Justice Rhian started her career in manufacturing and has previously worked for British Steel, International Quantum Epitaxy, Groupe Danone, and Perkin Elmer. Rhian holds an MBA specialising in change management, with particular emphasis on sustainability. Her main interest is taking a whole systems approach.
