2 DSTEP Online 2014 SD DOE and Pearson has begun the work to move the DSTEP assessment to be administered online in Spring The first of this process is the implementation of PearsonAccess for additional orders for Spring Throughout this next year there will be many activities (see next slide)that will occur that we want you to be aware of, as some of these activities will require your districts participation. Pearson is working with DOE to evaluate results of information in the Technology Readiness Tool. Be sure your network administrators has completed.

3 Online Implementation Activities Evaluation of District Readiness for Online Assessment (December 2012 April 2013, follow-up verification September 2013 December 2013) System Check Tool (March 2013 ongoing) Training Site and Student Practice Tests (mid- August 2013) Delivering a Pilot Assessment (October 2013 November 2013) Conduct Mandatory District Infrastructure Trials prior to the first live assessments (Fall January 2014) Face to Face teacher training (Fall 2013) Student Readiness (September 2013 March 2014)

4 Online Implementation SD DOE, BIT and Pearson have begun working with select schools to determine site readiness. The results of these visits will enable Pearson to provide online training to additional districts and schools. During the visits SD DOE, BIT and Pearson met with the Network Administrators

12 South Dakota PearsonAccess Training Site South Dakota PearsonAccess Training Site will be available Mid June 2013 This site will contain training modules In mid-august there will be student practice tests available Site will represent what the operational Spring 2014 will look like

13 Teacher Hands On Training SD DOE and Pearson will be setting up training sites for this training to occur in the fall of Training sites will be located across the state Training will be geared towards the steps necessary for sitting up testing sessions for classrooms. Every District should send at least one person to this training.

14 Pearson Training Support In addition to the training site Pearson will offer many webex training sessions through out the next year. Webex Trainings: System Check Tool Network Administrator Proctor Caching Network Administrator Test Session Management (creating test sessions and updating) Teachers, District Test Coordinators Accessing the Training Site - everyone Technology questions and answers Announcements about the webex trainings will be sent via the district coordinators list serve.
