2 Summary In Telefónica s new context of transformation, Universitas Telefónica, together with IESE (academic partner) assumes the challenge of developing the critical general management skills required of the company s future leaders. The program consists of a series of modules that will provide the participant with the necessary concepts and tools for decision making with a comprehensive general management role. The program, which will have a strong international flavour both in its participants and its faculty, includes 2 parts: a first module online (15 days), a second residential module (2 weeks). Target For hi-po s and pre-directors. Language April and October editions: English and Spanish with simultaneous translation July edition: Spanish. Duration 15 days online pre-work before the start of the programme; 2 consecutive weeks residential (weekend included). 3 Contents Module 1 (online) Individual preparation and study of the cases that will be covered in the residential module Module 2 (at Universitas Telefónica) Analysis of business problems: being able to approach complex problems and situations in a well-defined and structured way Economic context: understanding global trends, how countries are developing themselves and the socioeconomic factors which affect the business environment. Finance: acquire the basics of financial analysis in order to be aware of the business, understanding the relationships between the P&L, balance sheet and the uses and sources of funds. Trends in the digital area: acknowledging how IT is a driver of change in industries and how it impacts the relationships between business forces and strategies formulation Business Transformation: the world has gone digital and businesses need to transform to adapt their strategy to the consumer of the third millennium and new consumption tendencies Marketing: learning how to link customer value and firm profit, creating a new value proposition based on the customer orientation. Operations: get a better understanding of business processes and how to streamline them to improve product/ service availability Leadership: develop people management skills and learn how to motivate and get the best out of your team Communication: develop business communication skills, both at a personal and corporate level through the Total Engagement Model Wayra Consulting Marathon: participants will engage in real-life consulting projects coming from Wayra, the technological accelerator of Telefónica. By working closely with entrepreneurs on their projects, participants will apply insights gained during the program to a project of strategic interest in order to: Develop ideas aligned with the company strategy Communicate in front of a jury the rational and opportunity of a proposed idea Simulate how to perform in a heterogeneous team working under pressure

6 Faculty The program s academic partner is the internationally renowned IESE Business School. Academic Directors Josep Valor Josep Valor-Sabatier is professor of information systems and information technology and Associate Dean of Executive Education. Josep is a member of the IESE Executive Committee. He received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from MIT, and his Sc.D. in Medical Engineering from the Harvard- MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Josep teaches extensively at the senior executive level on Management Information Systems, Media Management, Management of Technology, and Strategy. Javier Zamora Javier Zamora is a professor in the Department of Information Systems at IESE. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, and his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He is co-founder of InQBarna, a company specialized in the development of multimedia networking applications for smartphones. Javier was during eight years the General Manager of eneo Labs, company devoted to products and services for the Digital Home. His area of expertise is Multimedia Innovation.

7 Faculty Eduard Calvo Eduard Calvo is professor in the Department of Production, Technology and Operations Management at IESE Business School. He holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in telecommunications engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain. Prof. Calvo s interests lie in the intersection of operations management and telecommunications, with a particular emphasis on the optimization and operation of wireless networks. An expert in optimization theory, he also consults for several industrial firms. Luis Palencia Prof. Palencia holds a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de Cantabria, Spain. He joined IESE s faculty in 1992, teaching managerial accounting and analysis of business problems. He obtained his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of California at Berkeley, in His research interests are primarily focused on the area of business valuation using accounting measures, and the effects of the accounting regime on accounting-based valuation models. He is also interested in analysis of profitability and financial diagnosis. Mireia las Heras Mireia las Heras is a professor in the Managing People in Organizations department at IESE Business School where she serves as the Research Director of the International Center for Work and Family. She received her degree on Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Catalonia, specializing on Industrial Organization, in Barcelona-Spain, and holds an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Boston University. Núria Mas Núria Mas is professor of economics at IESE Business School, where she teaches the Markets and Managers course on the MBA program and the Microeconomics course in the Doctoral program. Prof. Mas recieved a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Prof. Mas research interests focus on the interaction between the public and the private sector, with an emphasis on the health care market. Javier Santomá Dr. Javier Santomá is a professor in the Financial Management Department. His areas of specialization include portfolio management, company finance, insurance and finance for new companies. He holds a Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Luis Huete Luis Huete holds a degree in Law, an MBA from IESE Business School and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Boston University. He is the author of ten reference books on the management panorama in Spain and is a regular contributor to the business press. The journal Actualidad Económica has recognized him three times in its ranking of the 100 best business ideas of the year.
