Our energy modeling services included detailed evaluations of both the climate and location, orientation of the building, building mass and envelope related to windows, walls and shading; daylighting and lighting controls, space programming and interior design concepts in addition to the mechanical and electrical energy consuming systems. :

23 CERTIFIED ENERGY MANAGERS ADDITIONAL PROJECTS OCI recognizes that many of the building systems within our projects play a major factor in sustainable design. We encompass energy efficiency design, green initiatives, solar design, and smart building design to help facilities become certified LEED with the USGBC. As part of our role in green building, we utilize an in-house Certified Energy Manager who has demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness in the energy management profession EXPERIENCE Energy managers perform energy audits to provide clients with supply and demand-side energy management to get the best cost per kw, consumption management to lower overall energy use, economic analysis to determine system upgrade payback, and providing greening recommendations to help companies minimize their impact on the environment. Energy managers can also provide a focused energy perspective to new construction and renovation designs for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing design documents; incorporating energy efficient concepts from the beginning of the project. For the past two years we have taken part in an energy task for St. Lucie County School District to lower their electrical costs. In the first year they saw $2 million is savings from our energy efficiency designs. Currently we are working on a 60,000 SF data center for the Social Security Administration to provide an analysis of their cooling systems to provide a more optimized energy efficient layout. LEED DESIGN OCI has a considerable amount of experience on projects seeking LEED certification level of silver and above. We are knowledgeable in all of the design aspects that effect the credits associated with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and maximize a project s awarded point totals. All of the projects that OCI has designed that were seeking LEED certification have achieved or exceeded the projects certification level goals. While many of our projects that are designed under Continuing Contracts do not require certification, we always work with our clients to provide the most energy efficiency design possible within the restrictions of the budget and scope.
