2 AGREEMENT FOR A DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM BETWEEN UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN LAW SCHOOL AND SCHOOL OF LAW SOOCHOW UNIVERSITY WE, representing the Soochow University Law Faculty and the University of Wisconsin Law School, wishing to enhance our students master s level educational experiences in law, agree to a dual degree program under the terms described below: 1. Under this mutual agreement, students already enrolled in the master of laws (LL.M.) program at Soochow University will be able to earn up to six credits towards the Soochow University LL.M. degree from coursework taken at the University of Wisconsin Law School while they are an accepted and enrolled student in the Master in Legal Institutions (M.L.I.) program at the University of Wisconsin. 2. Under this mutual agreement, students already enrolled in the master of laws (LL.M.) program at Soochow University will be able to earn up to six credits towards the University of Wisconsin Master in Legal Institutions degree from coursework taken at Soochow University while they are an accepted and enrolled LL.M. student at that institution. 3. The reciprocal credits specified in 1. and 2. shall be granted only to a student who is currently enrolled and actively pursuing the LL.M. degree at Soochow University and the M.L.I. degree at the University of Wisconsin. Thus, a student wishing to take advantage of the terms of 2

3 this agreement must be enrolled in both the LL.M. program at Soochow University and the M.L.I. program at the University of Wisconsin at the beginning of the academic term for which reciprocal credits are sought. 4. Credit for coursework taken at the partner institution shall be granted only upon the approval of the home institution. Each institution retains the right to grant reciprocal credits only after a review of the courses taken. Each institution retains discretion to grant or not to grant reciprocal credits. 5. Each institution shall retain complete control over its graduate admissions policies. 6. This agreement pertains to and is limited to the reciprocal application towards graduation credit at the home institution of up to six (6) credits taken at the partner institution. This agreement does not pertain to other points, such as living expenses, tuition, or other such matters. 7. This agreement is open to revision and amendment by mutual consent in writing of the representatives of the respective law faculties. It is understood that this agreement is a new endeavor between the two institutions. After the first year of implementation, the representatives agree to communicate with each other to review the efficacy of the dual degree program procedure and to make suggestions for change, as needed. 8. This agreement shall be in effect until cancelled by either party and may be canceled by either party. In case of cancellation, sufficient notice shall be given so as not to adversely affect the ability of students enrolled at the time of cancellation from earning their degrees pursuant to this agreement. 3
