Mueller, AIC Issues Brief no. 14. This listing is not comprehensive in terms of sites, products or services. Rather, it is intended to provide a general depiction of the types of agricultural products and services currently available on the Internet. URL Address Description 1. A service provided by the financial intermediary, AgriBank, which allows users to collect up-to-date market information and apply for farm loans directly, through their online banking services DTN Ag1.com helps producers maximize profits, maintain independence and reduce risk by providing Your One Resource, a comprehensive plan including purchasing, financing, marketing, insurance, news and information This site is maintained and run by the Illinois based, Farmers National Company, offering Illinois and Missouri real Estate in an auction type format. In addition to the listings, it provides aerial photographs of the Real Estate being offered Created by the editors of Successful Farming Magazine, this site provides the latest information in Ag. News, weather, markets and new technology. It also offers an interactive forum where farmers can communicate with each other on topics such as Ag. Machinery and Livestock This site, run by Sloan Express, allows users to purchase Ag. Machine parts online. Sloan Express is a family owned mail order catalog company with deep roots in agriculture This site describes itself as a decision, networking and buying and selling tool. It is organized into commodity communities (i.e. corn, soybeans, and wheat) and offers immediate information about their product. It also has a chat room where users can communicate with each other about their commodity.

It also maintains a comprehensive index, for those interested in other areas of Farm purchases (i.e. livestock, farm equipment etc.) 8. This site includes up-to-date information on market prices throughout the world. Users can request information on market analysis, economic development and different project feasibility s Internetstats.com is a search engine used to locate internet, business, financial, and advertising statistics. This site does not concentrate on the agricultural sector, rather it lists a variety of international businesses This site lets the user purchase two different products, nable and nform. nable allows farmers to access weather information for each and every field they farm, run field-specific crop models, and get pest and disease alerts in order to make better selections of varieties, planting dates, irrigation and crop protection. NForm is a database program that allows farmers to report and record all field and crop information, including tillage, seed, planting, irrigation, scouting, applications, yields and quality This site ran by VantagePoint Network, LLC. It provides members with cost effective, information services in agriculture production emerge Interactive is a B2B Value Chain Integrator serving the U.S. beef-production industry. Their primary tool is the Cattleinfonet Business network, which is an online database allowing users to access up-to-date information on U.S. and International Cattle Issues, weather information and cattle commodity quotes ( A web site where users can read classified ads tailored to agricultural needs such as machine parts, livestock and Real Estate This database allows horticultural professionals to locate and source plants. It also allows wholesale growers to list their exotic or common plants, where others can locate and purchase online.

Those who need to sell groundwater, surface water, or shares in conservancy districts or ditch companies, can find those who need to increase their water supply for farm, ranch, and agricultural irrigation, municipal water supply, in-stream flow quantities, or other water resources requirements. This site also accommodates water leases and trades This site allows users interested in the horse, cattle or farm equipment industry to locate products and services relevant to their inquires This site allows users to purchase farm equipment and receive information on crop insurance, grain marketing programs, and crop scouting and soil sampling This site allows members of the nursery industry to search classified ads, purchase products and get region specific information Directory of new and used farm equipment, farm machinery and farm supplies for sale This site allows registered members to locate and purchase original equipment parts, after market parts, rebuilt parts, and used parts from businesses around North America A variety site containing up-to-date commodity specific information, weather forecasts, classified index and topical discussion groups A B2B site for the Beef Industry. This site matches supply and demand factors for a transaction fee of $98 per truckload and $59 per partial truckload. Listing products is free A market place for grain producers and buyers. In addition to the grain exchange, members can access news, weather information, and live assistance E-Markets creates online tools for the Agrifood industry. Some products offered by e-markets are AgContract, AgOrder, DRC, NetMarket Grain, and Attribute E- Xchange. This site also offers news, weather information and future quotes A B2B e-marketplace for many commodity groups, including almonds, dried fruit, pecans, walnuts, juices, apples, tomatoes, and rice.

It also provides access to products, services, and real-time market information A place where buyers and sellers in the food industry such as produce, seafood, meat, dairy, poultry, floral and ingredients, can meet and exchange goods. Buyers can post lists of the items they are looking for and sellers can match these requests The Horsepower Trading Platform (HTP) is a B2B global online marketplace enabling farmers and other agribusiness companies to buy and sell agricultural commodities, production inputs, and transportation items A live auction site selling livestock, farm equipment and farm dispersals The Internet Commodity Exchange is a site where sellers of the grain and feed industry can auction off their commodities online A region specific site listing feed and grain commodities and their prices, which are available in the area A multi faceted site containing items up for auction, classified ads, press releases, weather information, and discussion groups XSAg users can buy and sell agricultural chemicals, seeds, parts, equipment and animal health products through web auctions, fixed price, and "name your price" listings A site containing a variety of market place information from buying and selling livestock to buying and selling agricultural real estate.
