1 COURSE DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE MONDAY CLASSES FENCING For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $190 Class Limit: 8 students This is an introduction to fencing class. Learn about the instruments (foil, saber), basic footwork & positions, bodywork and drills, from experienced fencing masters. Equipment is supplied; just wear sneakers. FASHION CAMP For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $170 Instructor: Cheryl Fudge Fashion Camp Week 1: Introduction to fashion/what can we make? Week 2: Create your design. Week 3: How to thread a needle and how to sew. Week 4: Fashion show invitations. Week 5: Accessory making/ who says it has to match? Week 6: Do we love our merchandise? It s never too late to add or change. Week 7: Confidence/ wear your fashion and hold your head up. Week 8: Fashion show. THE GREAT For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $170 TREAURE HUNT Class Limit: 25 students Welcome to a land of amazing adventure and thrills! Using your skills and imagination, your fantastic Facilitator will guide you and your team as you master awesome challenges like island escape, shark attacks and giant mazes. THE GOURMET For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $170 CAFÉ Instructor: Belinda Guerra Cooking with kids is fun!! My philosophy is that by setting a good example and engaging kids curiosity, as well as their energy and their tastebuds, we can provide positive and memorable food experiences that will form a basis of positive lifelong eating habits. The objectives of this class are to engage children in positive sensory experiences with a variety of healthy foods, to identify personal food preferences, to practice food preparation skills, and to provide kids with positive fun experiences with food which increases the likelihood that they will try and enjoy those foods.
2 COURSE DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE TUESDAY CLASSES RECYCLED ART For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $170 Class Limit: 20 students Instructor: Ms. Stacy Actman Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! This class gives students the opportunity to make trash into treasure. Students will get to create projects using every day recyclable materials. Children will learn ways to creatively use old materials to make something new. YOGA FUN For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $140 Instructor: Ms. Mourao and Mrs. Worgul (In-house teachers!!) This class will provide a fun and creative approach to yoga. Students will engage in the use of animated poses and stretching exercises that will help promote flexibility and body awareness. The course will also incorporate fun filled games and team building activities to promote confidence and respect for one s self and others. Breathing and visualization techniques will be used in order to help teach kids how to relax and focus. SPORTS WITH For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $140 STOKES Class Limit: 22 students Instructor: Doug Stokes (In-house teacher!!) Play a different sport each week including indoor soccer, basketball, lacrosse, kickball and having a lot of fun with Mr. Stokes. KEEPING For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $170 QUILT Class Limit: 12 students Instructor: Ms. Lerner (In-house teacher!) In this story, the Keeping Quilt is passed along from generation to generation. It is made from the clothing of family members who came to this country as immigrants. This quilt is used for a variety of things such as a tablecloth, a wrap for new babies born into the family, a wedding shawl or huppa. The children will create their own generation quilt, using a provided quilt kit and as many memories as they wish. Each child should bring in keepsakes from home, for example; a bib, a piece of baby clothing, old Halloween costumes etc...or just draw, cut, color and paste your memories with the provided quilt patches. After 8 weeks your child will come home with their own "Keeping Quilt.
3 COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SCHEDULE WEDNESDAY CLASSES LLE: 3:15-4:15 LEGOS For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $170 Class Limit: 14 students Instructor: Doug Stokes (In-house teacher!) Legos are designed for kids who love to create, build, and discover while interacting socially with their friends. Come join Mr. Stokes in an 8 week adventure as simple blocks turn into creations of your imagination. Lego sets will be provided, and will be taken home by your child! CERAMIC AND For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $170 WOOD Instructor: Ms. Bettega (In-house teacher!) This class will be focusing on a different craft each week. We will be painting and embellishing many different kinds of wooden and ceramic items. Each student will receive their own wooden or ceramic piece and will add their own unique touch to it. We will use rhinestones, feathers, gems, stickers, patterned paper, die cuts, and many other fun items to embellish our pieces. Once completed, you will have your own personalized piece of artwork to take home each week! This is sure to be a fun and creative class! DISCOVERY AND For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $170 SPORTS ACTION Class Limit: 25 students GAMES Children will play a series of games each week. Some will be sport oriented and others will be team focused where they have to work together to discover how to best win the game. Each week new games will be introduced and new skills will be learned. Using the whole child methodology, each game will require both physical skill and will challenge the children to use their problem-solving abilities to uncover the best way to win the games. Some of the games include: soccer challenge kick, baseball targeting, memory games, and much, much, more. At the end of the final session, all children will receive a family-sized game to take home. YOUNG For Grades: 2-4 Tuition: $170 AUTHORS Instructor: Ms. Campagna (In-house teacher!!) Create, write, design and publish your own book. Every young authors book is a keepsake that you and your family will treasure forever. The teacher will be provided with a book kit from illustory, which includes pages guild lines, markers and self addressed postage envelopes to send in each child s book for publishing. Children will receive their book at home approximately 7-8 weeks after the class is finished. JEWELRY For Grades: K-1 Tuition: $170 MAKING Instructor: Ms. Lyndsey Stodnick (In-house teacher!) Come have fun and learn to create beautiful jewelry! Each class we will explore various ways to make basic jewelry. Projects include beaded patterned bracelets and necklaces, paper bead necklaces, personalized name bracelets and more. You will also get to design your own jewelry box!
