1 A-Z of Campus Services over the Christmas and New Year Period 2015
2 This listing outlines the changes to the Campus Services teams operating hours, service provisions and closures over the Christmas and New Year period. On Friday 11 December services will conclude at 15.30, to allow the Campus Services teams to attend Winter Celebration. The duty phone will be available for emergencies. Please submit any requests for Friday 11 December at your earliest convenience, so that the teams can plan accordingly. The School s closure period is from Thursday 24 December 2015 up to Monday 04 January During this closure period, the School s heating system will be adjusted to a minimum temperature. If you require access to the School during the closure period, there will be a collection of small heaters available for use at Plowden Security desk. A full list of details in alphabetical order can be found below. 3 Cleaning Services There will be no cleaning or Recycling services on the 25, 26, 28 December and the 01 January 2016 inclusive. Cleaning services will continue to operate normally with washrooms, lecture theatres, seminar rooms and dining areas been checked routinely on all other days. Emergency Management Cover The Security team is available at all times and will undertake an initial inspection on site to evaluate any issue that may arise. 5 Porters and Postal Services DHL Couriers will be accepted up until 21 December. Last post round and collection from offices will be one hour earlier at on Wednesday 23 December and the Post Room will accept standard mail brought down until that day. There will be no Porters or Post Room services after on Wednesday 23 December. A Post Room assistant will sort the registered and regularly delivered mail on 31 December in readiness for the New Year re-opening of the School. Normal services resume at on Monday 04 January. Reception Services Reception services will close at on the 23 December and will resume on 02 January from A member of the Reception team will be on site on 30 December from to to administer reservations enquiries received during the closure period. Security and Access to Buildings There will be 24-hour Security coverage throughout the closure period and security patrols of the campus will be carried out regularly. Specific details you need to be aware of: If you require access on site, you must sign in and out at Security at the Plowden Security desk. Any access control will be disabled and operated from the Security desk as necessary All satellite buildings will be alarmed and locked Staff and faculty can access their own offices on the main campus Students may use PCs in the seminar rooms on the first floor of Plowden The Taunton Student Centre will be closed from 23 December up to and including 01 January All enquiries during the Christmas and New Year closure period should be directed to the Security Team at the Plowden Security Desk on extension 7888 Service Point Last branded stationery order will be processed at on 21 December for delivery on 23 December. Last photocopying job through The Print Shop will be processed in the morning of 22 December for delivery or collection on 23 December. Last litho or large digital print job will be processed at on 14 December for delivery on 22 December. Anything after this date cannot be guaranteed for delivery before Christmas closure. Fleet machines will be covered until on the 23 December. Cover will be given on Sunday 27 December from There will be a skeleton cover on 30 and 31 December from The Print Shop will be closed from 24 December 04 January Space Management There will be a reduced hours service from week commencing 14 December and there will be no Space Management Team services during the School closure. Last date for space requests to the team will be on 23 December. Bookings can then be made via the LBS Room Booking App/service for study rooms only (system support only for this service is provided by IT see IT Helpdesk support hours ) Normal service resumes on Monday 04 January at 8.00 Back to top
