3 FROM OFFICER PARADISE No Parking in the Kowalski s Lot Use Cross Walk at 58 th and Neal by SA Do not block traffic on Highway 5 & 58 th Street. You can get a ticket for impeding traffic! No parking on yellow curbs during events at SAHS. You could be given a ticket or have your vehicle towed.

6 Are You Needing Help in Math? Tutoring will be offered by the SAHS Promise Fellows on Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:15-3:30 PM SAHS D107 Drop in visits welcome. No need to register in advance.

7 PLAN Test November 11, 2014 All 10 th grade students will be taking the PLAN test on November 11 th. Registration for this test is not required. ACT Practice Test November 11, 2014 All 11 th grade students will be taking an ACT Practice test on November 11 th. Registration for this test is not required.

8 DAILY PARKING PERMITS Please see Mrs. Radecke in the Main Office.

9 SENIORS: THE YEARBOOK STAFF IS STILL IN NEED OF YOUR STUDENT SURVEYS. IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR INFORMATION, IT WILL BE BLANK NEXT TO YOUR NAME IN THE YEARBOOK.

10 STUDENTS: Earn a FREE Yearbook Earn a free yearbook by selling 20 Clubs Choice Food items. The order forms were sent to your homes in early October. The former deadline of Wednesday, October 29 has been extended two days to Friday, October 31. Don't miss this chance to save $85 by selling only 20 food items. The order forms and payments are due in the publications office B-114 on Friday, October 31.

23 WINTER SPORTS All student athletes must pre-register online using FEE PAY prior to participating in tryouts or practice. You must have a current sports qualifying physical examination form on file in the Activities Office to register.

24 NCAA NATIONAL SIGNING DAY Wednesday, November 12 th If you are a PONY ATHLETE who is receiving a Financial Scholarship to Participate in Athletics at the College Level and will be signing on Wednesday, November 12 th, please notify Jacki in the Activities Office by November 5 th.

30 SENIORS: Plan Ahead!!! As a part of College Knowledge Month, several Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU schools) will be waiving their application fees the week of October 27-31, If you are applying to a two year MnSCU school (such as Century College) or any of the MnSCU four year schools (Bemidji; Mankato; Metro State; Moorhead; St. Cloud; Southwest State; Winona) the application fee will be waived during the last week in October. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

31 For Students from Low-Income Families Every Day of the year, students from families with modest incomes can apply at no charge using a NACAC fee waiver at the U of M, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the non-profit colleges that are members of the MN Private College Council. High School counselors and college admission staff can help a student make these arrangements.

33 FALL EXPLORERS PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS A program for students (age years old) who are interested in exploring a career in healthcare. There are 6 sessions on Mondays through December 15, Advance registration required. Space is limited. 36 COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP Stillwater Area High School seniors have the opportunity each year to apply for scholarships established by a variety of generous donors (i.e., service organizations, businesses, families and alumni). In most cases, the scholarship originator has established applicant criteria and the selection process for their scholarship. If you were not able to attend the October meeting, please pick up your application in the College/Career Center. Don t miss out on this fantastic scholarship opportunity for both 4 year colleges and technical schools. There are over 30 scholarships in this packet. Remember to check off the scholarships you are applying for if you don t, you won t be considered. You can also check out Naviance for all the scholarship information you may need. The due date for this scholarship is February 6th, 2015 by 3:00 p.m. no exceptions!!!

Student Grade point average of 2.8 or higher Demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences. Strong commitment to and involvement in community service. Plan to attend an accredited, nonprofit college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States. Your principal or counselor may nominate only one senior from the high school to apply for this award. Please pick up your application in the College/Career Center and return it by November 18th, Counselors and principal will then make their decision.
