1 Ramadan Greetings Have a blessed Ramadan Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr dates Tuesday, July 9 is the First day of fasting of Ramadan, insha Allah Thursday, August 8 is the First Day of Eid Taraweeh Prayers will commence after Isha prayers at 11:05 pm, Monday July 8 Ramadan Prayer Schedule Taraweeh Prayers Daily Iftaar...breaking of the fast Special Nightly prayers - Taraweeh prayers, will be held every night of Ramadan, following the Isha prayer The First Taraweeh prayer will be held after the Isha prayer at 11:05 pm on Monday, July 8 th Free Babysitting Service will be offered during the Taraweeh Prayer time, every day of the week, for children up to Age 7. Milk, Juice & Dates will be provided daily at the Islamic Center for everyone to break their fast. Maghrib prayer will follow 5 minutes after the adhan (call for Prayer). Dinner is provided for single brothers and sisters, travelers and visitors to town who register at the Islamic Center. Families are encouraged provide singles dinner, Sunday through Thursday, by submitting a form online at or ing info@lansingislam.com to obtain date/details of what to provide or to have it catered on your behalf. Community Dinners...every Friday during Ramadan All Muslims in the Greater Lansing area and their guests are invited to the free Community Dinners at the Islamic Center. Every Friday of Ramadan, right after Maghrib Prayer July 12, 19, 26 & August 2 All Muslims, irrespective of their ethnic groups or countries of origin, are urged to reserve this date and to gather at the Islamic Center on these Fridays to have dinner together and enjoy the blessings of Ramadan, together as a community.

There will be Weekly Qiyams for youth Boys & Girls every Friday from Isha until Fajr, led by Sr. Asmaa Abdelazim. Sahour (meals) will be provided for those attending the Qiyam prayer. Itikaf (Spiritual retreat) The Masjid will be open for anyone who wants to make Itikaf (spiritual retreat) during Ramadan. Please register at the office to make the Itikaf. Ramadan and Eid Bazaar A Bazaar will be organized every Friday after the community dinner You can do your Ramadan and Eid shopping at these Bazaars!! 3 Renting of the Gymnasium for Private Iftars (Dinner) The Islamic Center Gymnasium can be rented for private iftaars (dinners). There are 2 rental options: Option A - $300 Following amenities and supplies are included in the cost. Rental of the Gym Tables and Chairs will be setup beforehand ready for your guests Milk, juice, dates will be served in masjid for all your guests Foam Plates, Cups, Plastic Spoons and forks, Plain Table covers Manpower to assist with setup of tables and chairs and putting them away after use, recycling, waste disposal. To reserve the Gym, please info@lansingislam.com or call Most people prefer Option A. Reserve quickly. First come, first serve. Option B - $200 Cost covers only Gym Rental and DOES NOT include any of the Services and Supplies listed under Option A. Rental party will be fully responsible for setting up tables and chairs and to put them away after use. Zakat-ul-Fitr Zakat-ul-Fitr is an obligatory Charity due from every Muslim, both male and female and must be given to the poor and needy people so that they can enjoy the happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr with others. The head of the household must pay this amount on behalf of his/her own self and on behalf of their spouse, children and any other dependents. It is estimated at about $8.00 per person (or $10 if you are able to) and must be given during Ramadan - BEFORE the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer. Example: If there are 3 members in your family, then your Zakat-ul-Fitr due is 3 x $8 = $24. If you are unable to find a recipient for your Zakat, the Islamic Center can find a beneficiary. A donation box at the Islamic Center has been designated for this purpose. The sooner you fulfill your obligation, the earlier we can distribute the same to the needy and the deserving in order that they can celebrate Eid in a joyful manner along with the rest of us.

Option 2 -(ECONOMICAL option)- Parking at the North and South Grand Ramps is $1.00 per half hour (maximum of $8.50 all day) A sky walk connects the North Ramp to the Lansing Center.
