Ms. Shahida Perveen-Hannesen in Roshni Roshni s Founder President, Shahida Perveen came back in September 2012, to Roshni Village from Germany. During her visit, she met many donors and friends of Roshni and also looked for new projects to expand Roshni s work. Later, her husband Mr. Hamid Hellmut Hannesen also came from Germany. Both of them worked tirelessly on improving the quality of work in Roshni Association in all spheres of its activities Mr. Hamid returned to Germany in January, 2013, while Ms. Shahida left Roshni a month later with a promise that she would be back in the autumn of Message from the General Secretary Dear Roshni Friends, The year 2013, has arrived with more excitement and fun for Roshni Association s students. They stayed busy in different events and activities. Roshni Association has tried to improve their presence in public and to stay connected with fellow institutions. We are very thankful to our German donors for their continuous financial support during the last twelve years, but they now rightfully expect that our Pakistani friends should be the major contributors. We are planning to expand the activities of our fundraising department so that we can reach out to more and more sympathisers. Hopefully this issue of the Newsletter will encourage our readers to donate more this Ramadan. Without their generous support we will not be able to provide the care that is required by our students. Remember, whatever you give in the way of Allah is rewarded manifold. I assure you that all the members of Roshni Association s Steering Committee are fully committed to our noble cause. I hope, you will like this first issue in 2013 of Roshni Newsletter. Ms. Shahida Hannesen and Mr. Hamid with Roshni students and staff, at Roshni Village, December 2012 With best wishes, Muhammad Zahid Durrani
