2 POLICY PAPER - C&S WEBSITE REQUEST This year has been an experiment fr ASUSU. Our website is an imprvement ver the previus website, but still nt up t the standard that it shuld be in prviding students and ur ther audiences with the infrmatin they need abut ASUSU, its missin, and the services we prvide.. The simple fact is that t create and maintain a quality website is a task that requires much time and effrt. We currently pay ne persn $350 a mnth fr this service, which may sund like a lt, but is wefully belw what is usually paid fr this type f wrk. T prvide a website with the quality and features that will keep students interested and wanting t return, the jb will take mre than ne persn, and it makes sense t hire a prfessinal web designer t create a framewrk that will be attractive and functinal fr years t cme. One example f a gd student gvernment website is ASUU at the University f Utah. They hired a prfessinal designer t create their website last summer and then have a team f students that manage and maintain the website thrughut the year. It is simple, yet attractive and very functinal. There is enugh f a graphic element t be appealing, but the interactive aspects, functinality and cnstantly changing infrmatin are the mst imprtant part.
